A vibrating member adapted for use in a vibrating densitometer is provided. The vibrating member comprises a base and a vibrating tube portion affixed to the base. The vibrating tube portion comprises an inner diameter and an outer diameter, wherein the inner diameter is axially shifted from the outer diameter such that the inner diameter is not concentric with the outer diameter, and wherein the axial shift increases a frequency separation between vibration modes in the vibrating tube portion.

A cam assembly for use in a slam-shut safety valve includes a cam having an elongated first cam arm, and the cam is pivotable about a rotational axis. The cam assembly also includes a torsional spring having a pair of stationary outer arms and a pair of pivotable inner arms, wherein the pair of stationary inner arms is coupled to a portion of the first cam arm. The pair of inner arms is adapted to act on the first cam arm to bias the cam into a position that allows the cam to be relatched in a valve rearming process. The pair of inner arms is symmetrically disposed about the first cam arm to prevent lateral displacement of the cam.

A slam-shut safety device includes a valve body defining a flow path, a valve disc support, and a valve disc that is mounted on the valve disc support and is movable between an open first position spaced away from the valve seat and a closed second position seated against a valve seat. A reset pin is operatively coupled to the valve disc support and is shiftable between an untripped position placing the valve disc in the open position and a tripped position placing the valve disc in the closed position. An anti-rotation assembly is carried by cooperating portions of the valve disc and the valve disc support, with the anti-rotation assembly comprising at least one protrusion and at least one receiving area sized to receive the protrusion, the anti-rotation assembly arranged to stop rotation of the valve disc relative to the valve disc support.

A slam-shut safety device includes a valve body, a valve disc, a reset pin, a and a guide collar. The valve disc is shiftable between an open position spaced away from a valve seat, and a closed position seated against the valve seat. The reset pin operatively is coupled to the valve disc and shiftable between an untripped position placing the valve disc in the open position and a tripped position placing the valve disc in the closed position. The guide collar includes a hollow cylindrical portion slidably supported in a guide bore and extending at least partly over the reset pin at a location adjacent to the valve disc. The guide collar is shiftable between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the guide bore for providing added structural integrity and protecting the reset pin from bending forces.

A slam-shut safety device includes a valve body, a valve disc, a reset pin, and a guide collar. The valve disc is disposed within the valve body and shiftable along a slam-shut axis between an open position and a closed second position. The reset pin is operatively coupled to the valve disc and shiftable along the slam-shut axis relative to the valve body between an untripped position placing the valve disc in the open position and a tripped position placing the valve disc in the closed position. The guide collar includes a hollow cylindrical portion extending away from the valve disc at least partly over the reset pin and being slidably disposed in a guide bore of a slam shut body that is connected to the valve body and supporting the reset pin, thereby providing added structural integrity to the rest pin and valve disc.

A slam-shut device includes an inlet, an outlet, a valve seat, and defines a flow path. A valve disc is shiftable between an open position and a closed position, and reset pin responsive to an actuator is coupled to the valve disc and shifts between an untripped position and a tripped position. A cylindrical cage is mounted within the valve body and is disposed in the flow path, and includes a plurality of flow apertures slidably receives the valve disc. The cage includes a first end adjacent the valve seat and a second end away from the valve seat, and the cage forms a cylindrical recess disposed adjacent the second end of the cage and spaced from the flow apertures.

A slam-shut safety device having a disc arrestor includes a valve body, a valve seat between an inlet and an outlet, and a reset pin shiftable between untripped and tripped positions. A valve disc support includes has a threaded stem and is operatively coupled to the reset pin. A valve disc fits on the stem of the support and shifts in response to movement of the valve disc support between an open position and a closed second position in which the valve disc is seated against the valve seat. A threaded nut is securable to the threaded portion of the stem of the valve disc support, and an arrestor spring is positioned on the stem of the valve disc support and is secured by the threaded nut. The arrestor spring is arranged to apply a biasing force to valve disc.

A fail safe retaining plug assembly for a slam-shut safety device includes a reset pin, a retaining plug attached to the reset pin at a proximal portion, and a safety disk attached to the reset pin at a distal portion. The retaining plug assembly is sufficiently long to prevent the safety disk from falling off of the distal portion before the safety disk contacts a valve seat. The retaining plug assembly is also sufficiently long to prevent the retaining plug from falling off of the reset pin before the safety disk contacts the valve seat.
