A circular knitting machine with a carrier () for knitting tools () and a cam housing () is described, the cam housing () being sub-divided into a plurality of segments () which are adjacent in the circumferential direction and bear needle cams (). According to the invention, the circular knitting machine has a dust removal device which contains air distribution channels () which are configured in the segments and are connected to a compressed air source via radial air supply channels (). The air distribution channels () discharge into radial gaps () which are present between the segments and are sealed outwardly with sealing means () (FIG.).

What is described is a knitting machine with an electromagnetic selecting device for the three-way technique. In order to reduce the space requirement for the selecting device in height and width, assigned to each of the knitting tools () is a pivotable control jack () having two raising butts () and to which, per selecting device, two control magnets () arranged one after the other in the running direction of the knitting tools () are assigned. Depending upon which of the two control magnets () is selected for a selecting procedure, the control jacks () find their way with one raising butt () onto a knitting cam () or with the other raising butt () onto a tuck cam ().

A circular knitting machine is described which is intended to serve in particular the production of spacer fabrics. The circular knitting machine contains a needle cylinder () having cylinder needles (), a cylinder cam (), a dial () with needles () and a dial cam (). The needle cylinder () and the dial () fix a vertical and a horizontal comb spacing (x, y) and a stitch spacing (z). According to the invention, the needle cylinder () and the dial () are set up to form a stitch spacing (z) of at least 6 mm, and the knitting needles () of the needle cylinder () and/or the dial () are in the form of compound needles (FIG.).

Circular knitting machine, especially for the production of spacer fabrics

A knitting machine and a method to be accomplished on said machine are described, which are suitable for the production of knitwear from hard, inelastic thread material, e.g. from metal threads. According to the invention, at knitting systems () provided for this purpose, knitting needles () are raised to pick up threads, which are then preformed over the upper edges of knocking-over/holding-down sinkers () to form loops. Thereafter the stitch formation takes place by needle and sinker movements directed in opposite directions in the manner of the relative technique.
