The assembly is made up of: a) a support including a mesoporous coating whose pores have an average diameter dimensioned so as to enable molecules from the family of cyanines to penetrate them, and b) a layer of molecules from the family of cyanines and organized into J-aggregates within the pores of the coating. The assembly moreover includes Quantum Dots located within the same pores as those containing the J-aggregates, the Quantum Dots maintaining J-aggregates structure. A method for producing such an assembly is also described.

Assembly comprising J-aggregates

The present invention is drawn to a media sheet, comprising a substrate and a porous ink-receiving layer deposited on the substrate. The porous ink-receiving layer can comprise inorganic metal or semi-metal oxide particulates bound by a polymeric binder, and the porous ink-receiving layer can further include an effective amount of a sulfur-containing compound that interacts with ozone upon exposure thereto.

Sulfur-containing inorganic media coatings for ink-jet applications

A method for producing special supramolecular assemblies of colorants, in particular cyanine dyes, called J aggregates consists in depositing a monolayer of dendrimers on a support and subsequently in deposing cyanines in solution for forming the organized monolayer of J aggregates. The method can be used for producing a secondary light source for injecting light into a waveguide from a light energy received from a primary light source emitting at different wavelength. The secondary source, which consists of the J aggregates incorporating energy acceptors, can also be integrated into an optical device incorporating the waveguide.

A recording sheet for ink jet printing is described, which consists of a support having coated onto said support at least two ink-receiving layers, wherein the ink-receiving layer situated next to the support contains nanoporous silicon dioxide with a positively charged surface and at least one binder and the ink-receiving layer situated further away from the support contains nanocrystalline, nanoporous aluminium oxide or aluminium oxide/hydroxide and at least one binder and, optionally, nanoporous silicon dioxide with a positively charged surface.

A recording sheet for ink jet printing is provided, which consists of a support having coated thereon at least one ink-receiving layer consisting of binders and at least one nanoporous inorganic compound, wherein the recording sheet contains a polynuclear aluminum hydroxo complex with 30 aluminum atoms. In a preferred embodiment, the surface of the nanoporous inorganic compound is modified by a treatment with the aluminum hydroxo complex with 30 aluminum atoms.

Recording sheets for ink jet printing

An ink jet recording sheet is provided that delivers a photoparity image when printed with ink jet printer. The recording sheet comprises a two-layer coating. The bottom layer comprises amorphous silica and the top layer comprises spherical colloidal silica. Both silicas are rendered cationic. The recording sheet provides fast dry time, excellent image quality and superior water resistance and handle ability.

A recording sheet for ink jet printing is described, which consists of a support having coated thereon at least one ink-receiving layer consisting of binders, a nanocrystalline, nanoporous aluminum oxide or aluminum oxide/hydroxide, wherein the nanocrystalline, nanoporous aluminum oxide or aluminum oxide/hydroxide has been prepared in the absence of acids and has been treated with aluminum chlorohydrate. An electrically active film and a process for its preparation at low temperatures are described. The electrically active film consists of a support having coated thereon at least one electrically active layer which contains nanocrystalline, nanoporous transition metal oxides, transition metal chalcogenides or their lithium inclusion complexes and, optionally, auxiliary, electrically non-active layers, wherein the electrically active layers still contain a binder or a mixture of binders at the end of the preparation process.

A recording sheet for ink jet printing which consists of a support having coated thereon at least one ink-receiving layer consisting of binders, a porous inorganic oxide and copper salts, wherein the copper salts are salts of monovalent copper. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the recording sheet contains copper(I) chloride and optionally substituted 1,3-cyclohexandione.
