A magnet coil system () which is at least partially superconducting at a cryogenic temperature, comprising at least two partial coils () which are connected in series and are each bridged by a superconducting switch (), such that the partial coils form independent electric loops () when the superconducting switches () are closed, is characterized in that two electric loops () have a common section and a flux pump () is provided which is circuited in the common section () of the electric loops () of two partial coils (), wherein the sum of the currents of the two partial coils () flows through the flux pump () in the operating state. In this fashion, the drifts of two independent electric loops can be compensated for with a few devices.

Magnet coil system with active drift compensation for two independent current paths

A magnet configuration comprising a superconducting magnet coil system (M) and a current path (P) which comprises parts of the magnet coil system (M), wherein at least two electric connecting points (A, A, A, A) are disposed on the current path (P), which define a section (P, P, P) within the current path (P), wherein the section (P, P, P) does not comprise all parts of the magnet coil system (M) contained in the current path (P), and comprising a resistive element (W, W, W) having an electric resistance value &#x2267;0, and at least two contacts (K, K, K, K), wherein the contacts (K, K, K, K) are disposed between the resistive element (W, W, W) and one connecting point (A, A, A, A), is characterized in that in the superconducting state of the magnet coil system (M), an electric contact (K, K, K, K) between an electric connecting point (A, A, A, A) and a resistive element (W, W, W) can be closed and opened. The inventive magnet configuration provides quench protection and also effective disturbance compensation.

Superconducting magnet configuration with resistive elements

A magnet arrangement comprising a superconducting magnet coil system (M) which has an ohmic resistance (R) of zero or more during operation, and a flux pump (P) which comprises at least one superconducting switch and at least two superconducting secondary coils (M,M), is characterized in that at least one superconducting current path is provided, wherein the superconducting magnet coil system (M) or parts thereof is/are connected in series with at least two secondary coils (M, M), and wherein at least one secondary coil (M) can be superconductingly bridged through closing of a superconducting switch (S), and at least two primary coils (C, C) are provided which can each be fed independently of each other with a current (I, I) and which are each inductively coupled with at least one of the secondary coils (M, M). The flux pump is suitable for the stabilization of the magnetic field of the magnet coil system (M) during long-term operation.
