Methods for forming a function-infused feed material for a three-dimensional printing technique, methods for manufacturing an additive-infused three-dimensional printed object, and vehicles including additive manufactured components are provided. An exemplary method for forming a function-infused feed material for a three-dimensional printing technique includes solubilizing a functional additive into a medium. Further, the method includes contacting a three-dimensional printing feed material with the medium to infuse the functional additive into the three-dimensional printing feed material to form the function-infused feed material.

A liquid chromatography system and method utilizes a mobile phase comprising liquified compressible gas and miscible organic solvents. The compressible fluid may be carbon dioxide (CO2). Liquid CO2 tapped from an existing source is depressurized through a flow control metering station before adding solvent. The mobile phase flows through a sample vessel containing analytes and chromatography column for sample separation. A back pressure regulator maintains a set elution pressure in the chromatography column. CO2 advantageously remains in liquid phase for elution in the column, thereby avoiding two-phase conditions adversely affecting analyte resolution. An equilibration bypass flow loop may be provided to separate normal sample elution from initial CO2 flow equilibration, thereby allowing rapid exchange of samples with minimal downtime. System CO2 pressures less than 100 bar and room temperature may be used during the process, thereby obviating the need for high pressure pumps and chillers of supercritical fluid chromatography.

Single phase high pressure liquefied gas chromatography system and method

A pressure relief system for depressurizing a bottled pressure vessel. In one embodiment, the system includes a pressure relief device having a hollow outer member coupled to a fluid port in the vessel and an inner member at least partially disposed in and movably supported by the outer member. The system may further include a rupture disk disposed in the port between the vessel interior and exterior. In operation, the outer member remains stationary while the inner member is advanceable therein towards the pressure vessel. In one embodiment, the inner member includes a piercing element which is projectable to penetrate the rupture disk and into the vessel interior through material deposits that may obstruct the fluid port thereby releasing captive pressure in the vessel.
