An isocyanate-terminated prepolymer C having an NCO content of from &#x2267;26% by mass to &#x2266;31.0% by mass is obtainable from the reaction of an isocyanate composition A having a viscosity at 25&#xb0; C. of from &#x2267;60 mPas to &#x2266;800 mPas, comprising from &#x2267;25% by mass to &#x2266;60% by mass MDI and from &#x2267;40% by mass to &#x2266;75% by mass pMDI, wherein the sum of the amounts of those components is &#x2266;100% by mass, with a bifunctional polyester ether polyol B having an OH number of &#x2267;200 mg(KOH)/g and &#x2266;500 mg(KOH)/g, obtained from the reaction of a dicarboxylic acid/dicarboxylic acid derivative with at least one polyol and with an epoxide, wherein the polyester ether polyol B is used in amounts of from &#x2267;1.5% by mass to &#x2266;6.0% by mass, based on the sum of the masses of A and B. The invention further provides a PUR/PIR polymer produced from the prepolymer C, its use and composite elements based thereon.

Lightly modified prepolymers and uses thereof

The invention relates to a process for the production of a foam composite element, comprising the steps of providing a facing, applying adhesion promoter, and applying a foam layer comprising polyurethane and/or polyisocyanurate to the adhesion promoter, characterized in that the adhesion promoter consists of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polyether polyol (B.1), polymer polyol (B.2), polyurea dispersion (B.3), polyester polyol (B.4) and PIPA polyol (B.5). The invention relates further to the use of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polyether polyol, polymer polyol and polyurea dispersion as adhesion promoter in the production of foam composite elements, as well as to foam composite elements produced by the process according to the invention.

Method for producing a foam composite element

A polyurethane/polyisocyanurate foam is obtainable from the reaction of A) a polyol component comprising A1) an aromatic polyester polyol, A2) a polyether polyol started on a carbohydrate polyol and A3) a polyether polyol started on ethylene glycol, wherein the total hydroxyl number of the polyol component A) is from &#x2267;150 mg KOH/g to &#x2266;300 mg KOH/g; with B) a polyisocyanate component, wherein the equivalent ratio of NCO groups to the sum of the hydrogen atoms reactive towards NCO groups is from &#x2267;110:100 to &#x2266;200:100. This foam has improved adhesion properties to facings and is suitable for the production of composite elements without requiring the use of an additional adhesion promoter.

Polyurethane/polyisocyanurate foam having improved adhesion properties

Polyester polyols are produced from at least one carboxylic acid hydride and diethylene glycol by a process in which the formation of 1,4-dioxane is suppressed. These polyester polyols are useful for producing polyurethane (PUR) and polyisocyanurate (PIR) foams and metal composite elements containing these PUR or PIR foams.

Method for producing polyester polyols having low amounts of dioxane waste

The invention provides composite elements containing a thermoplastic polymer layer, adhering to a layer comprising the reaction product of a reaction mixture containing a prepolymer containing isocyanate groups produced by the reaction of at least one isocyanate and one polycarbonate polyalcohol with a functionality of 2 to 3 and a hydroxyl number of about 40 to about 400 mg KOH/g, based on the condensation of carbonates with diols and/or triols with a molecular weight of about 62 to about 3000 g/mol, the prepolymer having an isocyanate group content of about 5 to about 48%, compounds reactive with respect to isocyanates and optionally catalysts blowing agents and/or auxiliary substances and/or additives. The present invention further provides a process for the production the composite elements.
