A pull-to device pulls a vehicle closing component into a locked end position automatically in a final closing-movement phase. Whereas prior pull-to devices formed by a closure or even by a plurality of closures were effective only after the closing component has reached a pre-engagement position on the counter-component, here, during the closing movement, this pre-engagement position is assumed large independently of the closing accuracy of the closing component. For assistance, there is an additional pull-to device which consists of a leading catch coupling.

A method and apparatus are proposed for sealing the gap between a rigid sliding roof and a fixed roof region of a motor car surrounding the same by means of a cavity seal element which is housed beneath the fixed roof region by a groove formed between the latter and a rail attached to the roof which exhibits mutually spaced perforations in its upper member. In order to obtain simply a predetermined groove height, a distance or spacing element, which faces the fixed roof region, and the foot part which is constructed as a clip, is let into at least two of the perforations.

The cover of a rigid sliding roof is sealed against the solid roof region around it by means of a peripheral hollow chamber seal, a bead of this seal being only locally in contact with protrusions which are formed at the front of a rail fixing the hollow chamber seal. So that an adjustment procedure can be carried out in the case of a lack of pressure effect or in the case of too much pressure effect by means of tools, one appropriate to each case, each protrusion is aligned with and at a distance from a penetration which can be plastically deformed so that in each case the protrusion is moved towards or away from the penetration.

A sliding roof for vehicles, especially for passenger motor vehicles, equipped with a sliding cover movable in the vehicle longitudinal direction within longitudinal guidances and with a locking mechanism for the sliding cover to prevent movement thereof relative to the longitudinal guidances; at least one pressure member movable along with the sliding cover is provided, which is guided and selectively actuatable transversely to the slide direction; the pressure members which preferably consist of suitable soft-elastic material, are adapted to engage with brake surfaces extending at least approximately vertically in the slide direction whereby the brake surfaces are provided with a roughening to increase the attainable brake forces.
