A connecting element () is provided for fastening a sink () to a worktop (), which worktop has a cutout () for inserting the sink, which cutout has a peripheral boundary surface (). The connecting element has: a base body () serving as a bearing part for bearing against the sink; at least one spring part (-) which projects from the base body on a first side and which is designed, under loading in the direction of the base body, to produce a spring force which acts away from the base body; and at least one anchoring part which projects from the base body on a second side thereof situated opposite to the first side and which is designed to engage in a slot-shaped recess () in the sink. An engagement direction of the anchoring part extends substantially approximately antiparallel to a direction of the spring force.

Connecting element for fastening a sink to a worktop

A method of installing a sink in a worktop cut-out, including: (a) providing a sink with: a bowl with a bottom wall and a circumferential side wall; at least one outlet opening located in the bottom; a circumferential rim located at an upper edge of the bowl and extending outwardly from the side wall by an extent (E); resilient clamping elements arranged on the outside of the bowl adjacent the rim, that in a free or uncompressed state, extend outwardly beyond the extent (E), and which provide, in a loaded state, a clamping force outwardly from the side wall; (b) making the worktop cut-out larger in dimension than a rim area but smaller than an envelope around the uncompressed clamping elements while defining a cut-out side wall extending at right angles to upper and lower surfaces of the worktop; (c) placing the sink in the cut-out so that the cut-out side wall is located opposite the rim, the sink being centered within the cut-out by the clamping elements, which are compressed between the cut-out side wall and the sink.

Sink and method of installing same

A sink having at least one bowl with a bottom wall and a circumferential side wall, with an outlet opening in the bottom wall. First and second rectilinear grooves are provided in the side wall that extend toward the bottom wall. A plate-shaped divider fits into the first and second grooves in watertight manner. The divider has a peripheral edge with first and second portions that engage the first and second grooves, respectively, and a third portion located between the first and second portions contacts the bottom wall. A gasket is arranged on the edge in the first through third portions having three seal beads. First and second seal beads are arranged on first and second opposite lateral side of the edge of the divider, respectively, and a third seal bead is arranged on the peripheral edge between the first and second seal beads.

Sink

An insert () for a sink () is provided, having: a number of rod elements () which are arranged substantially parallel to and spaced apart from one another; a first flexible connecting arrangement () for connecting in each case first ends of the rod elements () with one another; a second flexible connecting arrangement () for connecting in each case second ends of the rod elements () with one another, which second ends are arranged opposite the first ends; and at least one through opening () is provided for interacting with an outlet () of the sink (), with the through opening () being arranged in one () of the connecting arrangements ().
