A method for bringing together a wrapper and a plurality of inserts can be used to form an advertising means compilation. In a region of a compilation section, the wrapper and the inserts are deposited on one another individually and in succession on a conveying element which is moved in a direction of transport. A leading edge of the wrapper is deposited offset relative to leading edges of the inserts so as to form an excess length of the wrapper. The inserts are deposited on one another, forming a stack, such that the leading edges of the inserts form a common fold edge. The excess length of the wrapper, which lies flat on the conveying element or on the stack of inserts, is folded around the fold edge and, at least in part, around the stack of inserts so as to form the advertising means compilation.

A method and an apparatus for forming advertising media compilations respectively consisting of one envelope and a plurality of inserts. Each advertising medium suitable for use as an envelope for an advertising media compilation to be formed is recorded in a computer-aided machine control. For each recorded advertising medium, an offset value is defined which corresponds to the required projecting length, relative to the associated inserts, wherein this offset value is used for forming the required projecting length in case of a changeover from one advertising media compilation to another advertising media compilation having an envelope that differs from the first envelope. The apparatus is respectively provided for this with a separate drive unit, connected to the computer-aided machine control, for at least one of the separating out and feeding elements and to the conveying element.

An apparatus and a method for processing a digitally printed-on paper web, conveyed continuously through the apparatus includes a perforating tool for perforating the paper web transverse to its movement direction, and a cutting tool for cutting print sheets from a downstream end of the paper web. The tools are attached spaced-apart to a tool carrier which can be moved to two operating positions in which respectively one of the tools can be made to engage with a counter tool on a rotating cutting drum.

Personalized printed products are produced in which at least one individually printed sheet is combined with conventionally printed sheets. A plurality of stacks of conventionally printed sheets are made available. Method and apparatus for producing personalized printed products

An apparatus and method for forming a stack with advertising material compilations respectively consisting of an envelope with inserts therein, and having a common, leading folded edge. The apparatus includes a feed conveyor, a transfer conveyor and a stacking device. The transfer conveyor comprises a central wheel that rotates around a first rotational axis, a carrier wheel that rotates around a second rotational axis oriented parallel to the first rotational axis, and a number of pivoting arms with respectively one gripper. The second rotational axis is arranged below a horizontal plane extending through the first rotational axis. The grippers are respectively positioned on the pivoting arm to rotate around an axis. The grippers take over the advertising material compilations in a takeover region from the feed conveyor, transfer the adverting compilations in a transfer region to the stacking device which extends into the transfer region and deposit these on the stacking device.

Apparatus and method for forming a stack of advertising material compilations

A method for operating a collection system for printed products includes drawing off the printed products from discharge device(s) disposed at corresponding discharge point(s) in the collection system. The printed products are deposited on a collection section during a cycle period of the discharge device(s) so as to form a bundle of printed products. The bundle is transferred to a subsequent conveying mechanism having receiving pockets. It is determined whether at least one missing printed product exists due to an incorrect drawing off from the discharge point(s). A repair process is initiated and controlled in which the at least one missing printed product is drawn off from the corresponding discharge point(s) at a time corresponding to a subsequent recurrent pocket-related cycle of the subsequent conveying mechanism in a subsequent cycle period of the discharge device(s). The at least one missing printed product is inserted in the relevant receiving pocket.

Method for operating a collection means for printed products

An arrangement to turn print products transported in a conveyed flow along a conveying path in a conveying direction that includes a first conveyor having a traction device guided over a reversing wheel. First clamps are attached to the traction device to clamp the respective print products. A second conveyor is arranged downstream the first conveyor includes second clamps arranged to receive the print products from the first conveyor. A curved turning section connects the first conveyor with the second conveyor along which the print products are turned upside down. The transfer device assists to transfer the print products from the first conveyor to the second conveyor and to turn the print products in the turning section prior to being clamped by the second clamps. The transfer device includes transfer tongs to turn the respective print products around an axis transverse to the conveying direction.

Method and arrangement to turn print products conveyed in a flow along a conveying path

An apparatus and method for transferring printed products conveyed in a shingled flow in a conveying direction by a conveyor to a transporter positioned above the conveyor. The shingled flow is conveyed with circulating clamps. Each printed product respectively projects with a leading end over a front end of a following printed product in the conveying direction and the circulating clamps respectively clamp the leading end of the printed products. Each printed product is lifted from below along one side of the shingled flow in a transfer region formed by the shingled flow and the above-positioned transporter. After the printed products are is lifted up, a trailing end of each printed product is gripped by a clamp of the transporter and then the printed products are further transported.
