A kit of stents and an adjustable multi-lumen stent for adjustable interventional reduction of blood flow in a blood vessel. The kit includes: a first reduction stent having in an expanded conformation at least one widened section and a narrowed section, the narrowed section defining a central lumen providing reduced fluid communication between an upstream end and a downstream end of the first reduction stent; at least one expandable dilatation stent having a tubular form insertable into and expandable in the central lumen of the first reduction stent to define an enlarged central lumen; at least one second reduction stent having a narrowed tubular section insertable into the central lumen of the first reduction stent or the central lumen of the dilatation stent to define an reduced central lumen, and having an anchoring element at its upstream end.

Method of volumetric blood flow measurement

A procedure for the determination of the true average peak velocity of particulate laden liquids in a tube, by the use of a Doppler ultrasonic transducer inserted in said tube. The average peak velocity (APV) and the null and first moment (M0 or M1) of the entire spectrum are obtained. The measured correlation between the null or first moment (M0 or M1) and APV are compared with a corresponding standard value which represents the correlation between M0 or M1 and APV upon optimal positioning of the Doppler ultrasonic transducer whereby where there is a deviation from the standard value, the transducer is moved until the values coincide.

Process and apparatus for the determination of true average peak velocity

Apparatus for endoscopic or gastroscopic examination of patients, comprising an endoscope (5) having a probe head (6) provided with an imaging transducer being preferably an ultrasonic or camera-based transducer, said endoscope (5) being adapted to be inserted through the mouth of the patient, and position detection means (7,15) to provide probe head position information which together with corresponding imaging examination results are adapted to be stored in recording means (24). As known per se the endoscope (5) has a visible distance scale or indication (15) along a length thereof. The position detection means comprise a small video camera (7) with a mounting device (7A) for holding the camera in a fixed position in relation to the patient's teeth and with the field of view of the camera covering said endoscope (5) and said distance scale or indication (15) thereon, at the point of entering the patient's mouth.
