A process for producing a wear-resistant cylinder bearing surface includes rotating a laser about its longitudinal axis and simultaneously advancing the laser in a direction of the longitudinal axis which is coaxial with a cylinder of a crankcase. A powdery material is fed through the laser and a jet of the powdery material is directed toward the cylinder bearing surface. A laser beam is deflected to an impact region where the jet of the powdery material impinges on the cylinder bearing surface. The jet of the powdery material passes through the laser beam. The laser beam at least partially melts the impact region before the powdery material impinges on the impact region. A device for producing wear-resistant surfaces is also provided.

Process and device for producing wear-resistant, tribological cylinder bearing surfaces

A wear-resistant surface is formed on a component formed of an AlSi alloy by using a thermal spraying or a laser beam treatment. A thermally conductive device is brought into a thermally conductive contact with the component so that the thermally conductive device touches the component during the step of forming the wear-resistant surface. The thermally conductive device is actively cooled.

A bearing arrangement which assures positive geometrical centering between two separately produced bearing components, preferably in internal combustion engines, includes a first bearing component provided with projections extending beyond a parting surface between the components and a second bearing component of lower hardness than the projections so that the projections displace the material of the second bearing component during assembly of the bearing arrangement.
