Electromotive furniture drive for displacing parts of a piece of furniture relative to one another. The drive includes a drive element that can linearly move along a linear motion axis. This drive is provided for pivoting a pivotal element, which can pivot about a pivot axis and which, when the furniture drive is in a mounted position, is actively connected to a part of the piece of furniture to be displaced. An element may be provided that, during the displacing motion, maintains the engagement between the drive and the pivotal element at a point P that is essentially fixed along the linear motion axis. The furniture drive can be easily and economically produced and has a sturdy design.

A sliding roof for a vehicle comprises a plate movable lengthwise of the vehicle for opening and closing an opening in the vehicle roof. A front support supports the front end of the plate and is movable lengthwise of the vehicle for moving the plate between different positions. A rear support supports the rear end of the plate. A height-adjusting device is associated with the rear support to adjust the height of the rear end of the plate as the plate moves lengthwise of the vehicle. The rear support is also moved lengthwise of the vehicle to effect adjustment of the height of the rear end of the plate. An actuator effects movement of the front and rear supports at different speeds in a predetermined relative relationship in order to effect height adjustment.

A sun roof for a vehicle has an opening therein closed by a cover plate. The cover plate is pivotally attached to the roof at the front edge thereof. The rear edge of the cover is adapted to move vertically relative to the plane of the roof. An adjusting device is provided for moving the rear edge of the cover plate. The adjusting device includes a spring for applying a spring force to the rear edge of the cover plate to move the rear edge thereof vertically. The adjusting device further includes flexible pulling means acting against the spring force and connected to the cover plate at one end thereof and driving means for driving the other end of the flexible pulling means to provide for opening or closing of the roof opening.
