A suspension arm actuator for a scanning device includes a suspension arm which is designed as a two-arm lever having a first and second arms. The second lever arm includes a component for a magnetic drive for a swivel motion of the suspension arm. The component is arranged at a recess having the shape of a circular arc, with an inner leg of a yoke being permanently attached to a support projecting into the recess and forming a magnetic yoke, wherein the yoke is provided with a shell-like magnet on its outer leg in order to form the magnetic drive. A magnet for field optimization, which is magnetized perpendicularly in relation to the shell-like magnet, is arranged on the yoke in the region between the inner leg and the shell-like magnet to increase the sensitivity of the suspension arm actuator.

Suspension arm actuator for a scanning device including a magnet for field optimization

A pickup for accessing moving storage media carrying substantially parallel information tracks has a carrier, an actuator with a lens and suspension wires extending from the rear of the carrier and joining the carrier and the actuator. The actuator is movable in the focus direction and in a tracking direction and has a substantially rectangular flat board carrying the lens and a counter weight. The flat board is arranged orthogonal to a focus direction and carries tracking and focus coils. The pickup has a magnet configuration connected to the carrier with at least two tracking magnets, which are arranged in the tracking direction at opposite sides of the flat board and extend orthogonal to the focus direction above and/or under the flat board, and with at least two focus magnets, which are arranged in front of and behind the flat board and extend orthogonal to the direction of the tracks. According to the invention, the lens is arranged asymmetrically in reference to an axis through a center of the flat board parallel to the direction of the tracks while the lens and the counter weight are symmetrically arranged in reference to the center of the flat board.

An electromagnetic drive includes a drive plate disposed in a magnetic field. The drive plate includes a non-conductive medium with a first plurality of linear conductive elements arranged parallel to a first axis. The first plurality of linear conductive elements connects first and second electrical terminals supported by the non-conductive medium. The drive plate may be driven in the magnetic field along a second axis that is substantially perpendicular to the first axis when an electrical current of sufficient magnitude is passed through the first plurality of linear conductive elements.

The invention relates to a scanning device for optical storage media, having an optical housing with sliding bearings, which are arranged at a distance from one another, for linear movement on a guide rod, and with optical components in order to form an optical path. It achieves the object of designing a scanning device such as this in such a way that its adjustment, associated with a setting of the optical path, is simplified and can be carried out precisely. For this purpose, each of the sliding bearings is formed from a sliding bearing bush which is held on a guide block, that is fixed to the housing, in such a way that it can be adjusted in a radial direction with respect to this guide block, and is self-aligning in a direction at right angles to this.

The invention relates to a scanning device for optical discs, having an adjustable scanning unit tensioned against a carrier with a spring. For minimizing the structural space for the spring and avoiding separate fixing elements, the spring is formed as a dip spring, having an elongated spring limb and a bearing limb formed transversely with respect to the latter, which clip spring impinges at one of its ends with the bearing limb on the carrier with a contact force and is supported at its other end at a distance from the impingement location on the housing.

Actuator for an optical scanning device, having a focus lens mounted in a lens holder and having a damper base firmly connected to a mount, having a magnet arrangement arranged on the mount, and a coil arrangement interacting with the magnet arrangement, on a printed circuit board, for fine positioning of the focus lens, with the printed circuit board being connected to the damper base by means of elastically flexible suspension means arranged on both sides of the longitudinal axis of the actuator. It achieves the object of designing an actuator such as this in such a way that it has a reduced moment of inertia, because of a reduced mass. For this purpose, the printed circuit board is at the same time a mounting board for the lens holder, and the printed circuit board and the lens holder together form the moving part of the actuator.

The invention relates to a recording and/or reproduction apparatus for optical recording media with means for parallel orientation of the scanning device with respect to the surface of the recording medium, the scanning device being arranged on a slide that is guided on a guide rod. A tensioning element is provided, by means of which the guide rod of the scanning device is fixed on a baseplate in order to avoid a force transmission leading to the bending of the guide rod, said force transmission disadvantageously issuing from fixing or adjusting means of the guide rod, in an adjustable manner in a plane corresponding to the cross section of the guide rod. The fixing and adjusting device formed by means of the tensioning element has a small number of individual parts, the guide rod can be mounted on a shaped portion of the baseplate with a low outlay and nevertheless avoids to the greatest possible extent a force transmission to the guide rod that disadvantageously issues from fixing or adjusting means. The fixing an adjusting device is provided in particular for parallel orientation of the scanning device in a recording or reproduction apparatus for optical recording media with respect to the surface of the recording medium.

The invention relates to a drive system for a scanning device of an information recording or reproduction device, with a carriage coupled to a toothed rack, a gear wheel mechanism driving the toothed rack and a gear housing. It achieves the object of designing a drive system of this type alternatively and in such a way that it ensures a high speed and positioning accuracy of the carriage. For this purpose, the gear wheel mechanism is secured on a supporting element and the gear housing, the gear housing consisting of a dimensionally stable material and being pivotable with the gear wheel mechanism about a spindle which is arranged perpendicularly with respect to the toothed rack.

A protective cover for an objective of an optical head is proposed which can be moved between a position covering the objective and a position exposing the objective. In the position exposing the objective, the protective cover is positioned outside the plane between the optical head and an optical recording medium located opposite the optical head.

Reproduction and/or recording device for optical recording media having a unit for adjusting the inclination of a bearing, is disclosed. The device includes a unit for adjusting the inclination of a bearing of a laser disk scanning apparatus, which has a board to which the bearing is fastened. The inclination of the bearing can be set with regard to the board by setting units, which alters the distance between the board and the bearing, the selling units each having at least one elastic element, is known. In order to improve the device to the extent that its individual components are inexpensive to produce and the adjustment can be carried out rapidly and in a simple manner, it is provided that the board has at least two elastic lugs, which are connected to the bearing. The inclinations of the lugs can be set with regard to the board by setting units, which act on the lugs.
