A circuit interrupter rotary contact arm is provided. Rotational torque is applied to the contact arm by a spring force from one or more springs arranged along the sides of the contact arm. The contact arm includes an edge surface having one or more features or bumps. The bumps are configured cause the one or more springs to exert increased spring force and to increase frictional resistance, which increases the rotational torque required to move the contact arm.

Circuit interrupter rotary contact arm

A circuit breaker rotary contact arm is used within a plurality of single pole circuit breakers ganged together to form a single multi-pole circuit breaker. To provide uniform contact wear among the associated circuit breaker contacts, the rotor carrying the rotary contact arm pivot is slotted to automatically position the rotary contact arm to allow for changes in the contact geometry while maintaining constant contact compressive forces. The individual circuit breakers connect with the central operation mechanism by means of a single pin.

Rotary contact assembly for high ampere-rated circuit breaker

A rotary contact arrangement for circuit breakers of the type including a pair of contact springs arranged on each side of a rotary contact arm, as the contact springs interconnect between the rotors and the contact arm via a pair of U-shaped levers. The provision of the U-shaped levers provides uniform contact pressure between both pairs of fixed and moveable contacts to prevent contact erosion.

Circuit breaker rotary contact arm arrangement

A thermomagnetic circuit breaker in a preformed housing comprises a display means for selective display of the reasons for tripping. Tripping bars, actuable independently of one another, include a release function as well as a display function. Alternatively, display may take place with additional trip levers. Combinations of independently actuable tripping bars and an operating handle provide a display means for display of an overload, momentary, ground fault or accessory trip condition.
