A sound or ultrasound sensor having a radiation characteristic with a preferably small beam angle and producing very little interference signals, including a pot-shaped housing closed at its bottom end by a floor, a piezoelectric element for producing and/or receiving sound or ultrasound through the floor, a matching layer between the piezoelectric element and the floor, and a metal ring gripping around the matching layer with an interlocking fit.

An arrangement for fill level measurement is provided, with which accurate fill level measurement on a continuing basis is possible, including a container () containing a fill substance () whose fill level is to be measured, a fill level measuring device () arranged at the container () and operating according to the travel time principle, an apparatus () for registering a filling and/or emptying of the container (), an auxiliary unit (), which by means of the filling and/or emptying registered by the apparatus (), determines an instantaneous change in fill level (V) or an instantaneous change in material flow rate, and makes such available to the fill level measuring device () for determining the fill level (L) to be measured.
