The invention relates to a method and device for navigating on a vision plane () in a multidimensional image data set (), wherein the intersection angle and degree of freedom () of the vision plane () displacement correspond to the degree of freedom of a sample () displacement, in particular an ultrasound transducer () during an interactive image producing examination. Said invention also relates to a method and device for carrying out measurements in dynamic image data, wherein said method consists in stopping, for a predefined time interval, a sequence reproduction when a frame (Fp) is interesting, thereby enabling a user to carry out measurements.

Method and device for navigating and measuring in a multidimensional image data set

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for visualizing movements of an object, preferably the movements of blood vessels during the cardiac cycle. The method includes scanning the object by at least a two dimensional ultrasonic image scanning apparatus at discrete acquisition times to acquire a data set by using surface reconstruction and/or volume rendering techniques. Next, the three-dimensional data set is partitioned into a plurality of volume units, wherein each volume unit has a unit surface. The method further includes calculating the change of volume of each volume unit over the acquisition times to obtain level information of each corresponding unit surface over time, and displaying the three-dimensional data set with its level information over time.

Method and apparatus for detecting movements of an object using volume change

The invention relates to a method and to a device for the representation of a predeterminable region () in multidimensional data sets (). The data sets () are especially made of three or four dimensional image data of an object which is to be examined. The image data is produced by means of one or several receiving elements of the object and especially at least one two-dimensional cut (S) is located and displayed through the predeterminable region (). The cut (S) is defined by at least one vector plane and/or indicator plane (E, E), which are arranged in the multi-dimensional data set (), by means of a vector (). Said vector or indicator is fixed by manipulation in the multidimensional data set () and/or on, particularly, the two-dimensional cut planes (S, S) of the multi-dimensional data sets () on at least one vector plane (E, E) and the vector and/or indicator (). Advantageously, the vector () is a directional vector (or an arrow) provided with a predeterminable direction and length and extends along the predeterminable region ().
