A welding machine, preferably of the flash butt welding type, designed to facilitate maintenance of the clamping means, e.g. clamps, of the two longitudinal metal products to be welded. Advantageously, a first structure, provided with first clamping means, and a second structure, provided with second clamping means, are supported in a first part of the carriage delimited by a first beam and a second beam of the carriage parallel to the feeding direction, while at least one transformer is fixed to the carriage and supported in a second part of the carriage, arranged laterally outside the first part.

Welding machine

Coiling device () and relative coiling method for rolled or drawn long products, comprising a mandrel (), arranged cantilevered and rotatable with respect to a central longitudinal axis (X), and on which the long products are wound in adjacent and superimposed spirals (), in order to form a compact coil () having the geometric shape of a circular ring with lateral flanks substantially orthogonal, or very angled, with respect to the central longitudinal axis (X). The mandrel () comprises a flange () substantially orthogonal, or very angled, with respect to the central longitudinal axis (X) which defines a first lateral flank of the coil (). The mandrel () also comprises first arm elements () which define the cylindrical surface of the core that forms the coil (), and second arm elements (), opposite the flange (), which define a second flank of the coil. The first and the second arm elements () are mobile between a first coil-forming position and a second coil-removal position.

Coiling device and method for rolled or drawn long products

In a machine for counting bars, for example metal bars, that are to be sent on to a packaging station which packages a pre-set number of them in bundles, the problem of precise counting of the bars is solved by using, for the conveyance of the bars to the counting station, a screw conveyor, in which each groove of the screw has a wall having a pitch increasing more rapidly as compared to the normal pitch of the screw, thus making it possible, in the case where more than one bar is present in the same groove, to render the lying plane of the bars not parallel to the specific axis of the counting means. This is obtained by providing one of the faces of the grooves either with a special step having a continuously increasing width, or with a continuously increasing inclination.

Device for counting bars that are being translated

Device to retrieve and discharge short bars, which is associated with a counting and separation zone (16) of a bar feeder (12) upstream of a station for the formation of bundles of bars, the bars (11) being substantially butted at a first side of the device and being fed forwards in a direction perpendicular to their lengthwise extent, the bars (11) of a required length protruding at the second side of the device from their feeder (12), a retention device (19) to perform temporary retention being included in cooperation with the counting and separation zone (16) and with the second side of the device and defining an extraction station (15), which is equipped with a first plurality of separator/extractor rolls (27) within the bar feeder (12) and with a second plurality of extractor rolls (28) outside the bar feeder (12) and at the opposite side to the temporary retention device (19).

Device to retrieve and discharge short bars

Device to discard short bars shorter than a predetermined length from a plurality of bars being fed by feeder that comprise a plurality of first conveyor chains (14a) and a matching plurality of second conveyor chains (14b), on which the bars (11) are positioned perpendicular to the conveyor chains (14) and are fed in a direction at a right angle to the lengthwise extent of the bars (11), the downstream ends of the first conveyor chains (14a) and upstream ends of the second conveyor chains (14b) being progressively staggered so as to define a separation channel (13) positioned at an angle to the axis of feed of the bars (11), an angle of between 10.degree. and 45.degree. being defined between the separation channel (13) and the axis of the bars (11), the separation channel (13) cooperating with a bridge to support ends of bars of at least the predetermined length.

Device to discard short bars

Machine with handling assemblies to package layers of bars, which cooperates with a feeder conveyor (11) and with a collection and discharge device (35), the feeder conveyor (11) comprising a first coordinated plurality or stationary abutments (14a) to position a layer to be engaged containing 'N' or 'N-1' bars (13) alternately and a second coordinated plurality of movable abutments (14b) to position momentarily a waiting layer containing 'N-1' or 'N' bars (13), the machine including a drive shaft (17) located below the plane of, and at a terminal position of, the feeder conveyor (11) and at a right angle to the direction of feed of the feeder conveyor (11), the drive shaft (17) setting in rotation a plurality of non-inverting rotary arms (21), each of which rotary arms (21) bears a non-inverting handling assembly (18) always kept substantially horizontal, the drive shaft (17) setting directly in rotation a substantially coaxial plurality of rotary spindles (16) parallel to the drive shaft (17), each of the spindles (16) being associated with an inverting handling assembly (19) comprising first and second claws (24a-24b) which have a first position for engagement, conveying and inverting (33a) and a second position for delivery and retraction (33b).
