A pair of circuit boards, or electrically insulative panel members on which the circuit boards are mounted, have side edges which slide into aligned longitudinally extending slots in a pair of facing, spaced apart cantilevered free sections of a pair of planar legs of a bracket secured to a panel in an electric power equipment enclosure. A terminal portion of one free section diverges outward to form a camming surface against which a complimentary camming surface on a rearward edge of a tab on the associated side edge of the panel member bears to spread the free section apart until the tab passes into the slot and the terminal portion snaps over the tab and engages a latching surface on the forward edge of the tab to latch the panel member to the bracket. The panel member is released by lifting the diverging terminal portion of the one free section to clear the latching surface and sliding the panel member out of the slots.

A molded circuit board securement and voltage isolation device is provided for use with one or more circuit boards or related electrical apparatus in an electrical enclosure. The device includes an open housing which has a base and opposing side walls positioned transversely with respect to the base. A stiffener such as a bridge is provided to provide the physical stiffness for the device and to resist mechanical vibration. The bridge spans the opposing side walls which have slots formed therein to permit the receipt of electrical apparatus such as circuit boards, for example. Circuit boards are secured in the device in substantially perpendicular alignment both with respect to the base and the opposing side walls. In another aspect of this device, at least two circuit boards can be positioned in a housing with a solid support wall formed between them to conserve available space. The solid support wall and the secure positioning of the circuit boards provides separation between the boards which promotes voltage isolation.

Electrical board securement and voltage isolation device

A three-phase controlled rectifier bridge for converting alternating current to direct current includes six segments for each of the positive and negative polarities of each of three AC phases. Each of the segments has a semiconductor controlled rectifier element responsive to a control signal to control current conduction within the segment. A conduction monitor, which is provided for each of the AC phases, monitors a corresponding one of the AC phases to provide a conduction monitor signal. A first shunt current sensor senses current of the segments for the positive polarity of the AC phases and provides a first current signal. A second shunt current sensor senses current of the segments for the negative polarity of the AC phases and provides a second current signal. A control and monitoring circuit has outputs which output the control signals to the segments to control current conduction within the segments, and a microprocessor-based firmware routine which employs the conduction monitor signals and the first and second current signals to determine an average current for each of the segments.
