An optical film made from a light-permeable material includes a surface and an optical microstructure having a plurality of elevations. The elevations of the microstructure protrude from a reference plane, which is parallel to the surface. The elevations of the microstructure each have a flank section which adjoins the reference plane and forms a uniform angle with the reference plane. The uniform angle is in a range from about 33&#xb0; to about 42&#xb0; or in a range from about 35&#xb0; to about 40&#xb0;. The optical film according to the invention makes it possible to provide a light fixture with relatively strong glare suppression and at the same time to produce a preferred light distribution curve (LDC). In addition, it can be relatively flexibly moulded and cost-effectively produced.

An optical layer made from a light-permeable material includes a surface and an optical microstructure having a plurality of elevations. The elevations of the microstructure protrude from a reference plane, which is parallel to the surface. The elevations of the microstructure each have a flank section which adjoins the reference plane and forms a uniform angle with the reference plane. The uniform angle is in a range from about 10&#xb0; to about 26&#xb0; or in a range from about 13&#xb0; to about 23&#xb0; or in a range from about 15&#xb0; to about 20&#xb0;. The optical layer according to the invention makes it possible for a light fixture to achieve a high light output rate (LOR) at the same time to produce a preferred light distribution curve (LDC).

A white light source includes an array of light emitting elements arranged to a light guide. A light in-coupling array is arranged so that each light emitting element faces a light in-coupling element to incouple in the light guide a portion of the divergent light beams so that the in-coupled angle of at least a part of the light rays of the in-coupled light beam is higher than 45&#xb0;. An array of light homogenizing elements is arranged so that each light homogenizing element faces a light incoupling element and so that the deflection angle of at least a fraction of the incident part of the in-coupled light beam incident on each of said homogenizing elements is higher than 45&#xb0;. The white light source provides a uniform outcoupled white light beam.
