In a process for the preparation of derivatized carbon monoxide copolymers, functionalized linear, strictly alternating carbon monoxide copolymers of carbon monoxide, at least one 1-alkene (A), where (A) is an aryl compound substituted by at least one terminal allyl or homoallyl moiety and by at least one hydroxyl or amino group, or an a-olefinically unsaturated aliphatic alcohol, and, if desired, at least one C,-C,-1-alkene (B) are reacted with an organic compound (C) having at least one electrophilic group in an aprotic organic solvent.

Derivatized carbon monoxide copolymers

In functionalized linear alternating carbon monoxide copolymers of carbon monoxide and at least one 1-alkene (A), compound (A) is an aryl derivative substituted with at least one terminal allyl and/or homoallyl moiety and containing one or more polar groups, with the proviso that 4-allylanisole is excluded.

Functionalized carbon monoxide copolymers

Linear, thermoplastic, elastomeric copolymers comprise carbon monoxide and at least one olefinic C,- to C,-monomer and have an average molecular weight M,greater than 15,000 g/mol and a T,-value of less than &minus;20&deg; C., and comprise carbon monoxide, at least one olefinic C,- to C,-monomer and at least one olefinic C,- to C,-monomer and have an average molecular weight M,greater than 40,000 g/mol and a T,-value of less than 20&deg; C.
