A strapping device including a tensioner operable to apply a strap tension to a loop of wrapping strap, a friction welder operable to produce a friction weld connection at two areas of the loop of wrapping strap disposed one on top of the other, a motor operable in a first rotational direction to drive the tensioner and in a second opposite rotational direction to drive the friction welder, and a control device. The control device is configured to, in response to receiving a first designated input: (1) operate the motor in the first rotational direction to drive the tensioner until a predetermined strap tension is reached in the loop of wrapping strap; and (2) afterwards, automatically operate the motor in the second different rotational direction to drive the friction welder to produce the friction weld connection.

Strapping device

The present disclosure relates to a strapping head of a strapping device for strapping packaged goods with a strap. The strapping head includes an advancing apparatus and tensioning apparatus having at most three rollers for transferring an advancing motion, a retracting motion, and a tensioning motion to the strap. A least one of the wheels is operatively connected to a driving apparatus to cause the at least one of the wheels to rotate about a rotational axis for the advancing, retracting, and tensioning motions. The rollers can be brought in contact with the strap in pairs on both sides of the strap in different combinations with each other.

The present disclosure relates to a strapping apparatus of a strapping device for strapping packed goods with a strap. The strapping apparatus includes a strap-advancing apparatus for advancing the strap during the formation of a strap loop, a strap-retracting apparatus for retracting the strap after the strap loop has been formed to bring the strap in contact with the packaged goods, and a tensioning apparatus configured to increase a strap tension of the strap lying against the packed goods. The problem addressed by the present disclosure is improving said strapping apparatus to the effect that the strapping head can be made as compact as possible. This problem is solved in that only one common motor drives the rollers of the strap-advancing apparatus, the strap-retracting apparatus, and the tensioning apparatus.

The present disclosure relates to a tensioning device of a strapping device for strapping packaged material with a strap. The tensioning device includes a tensioning wheel operatively connectable to a drive device to rotate the tensioning wheel about a rotational axis. The tensioning wheel has a circumferential surface configured to engage the strap. The tensioning device also includes a movable spacer provided on the tensioning wheel in the region of the circumferential surface of the tensioning wheel. The spacer is movable between a first position in which part of the spacer is a first distance from the rotational axis and a second position in which the part of the spacer is a second different distance from the rotational axis. The spacer projects beyond the circumferential surface of the tensioning wheel in at least one of the positions.

Tensioning device for a strapping device

Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a mobile strapping device for wrapping material to be packed with a strap, the device comprising: a tensioning unit for applying a strap tension to a loop of a strap, a welding unit for producing a welded connection on two superimposed regions of the strap loop, a housing with a front housing region formed as a cover for the tensioning unit and a rear housing region for receiving a rechargeable energy store, and a handle arranged between the front and the rear housing regions for holding the strapping device. The device also includes a display device arranged on the rear housing region and configured to display operating information of the strapping device.

A mobile strapping device for strapping packaged goods with wrap-around strap, comprising a tensioner for applying a strap tension to a loop of a wrapping strap, and a connector for producing a connection in two areas of the loop of the wrapping strap disposed one on top of the other, and a chargeable energy storage means for storing energy that can be released as drive energy for motorized drive motions at least for the friction welder for producing a friction welded connection and/or for the tensioner, is intended to have high functional reliability and ease of handling despite the possibility of automated production of wrapped straps, at least to a large extent. To this end, it is proposed that the energy storage means of the strapping device comprise a lithium ion battery for providing energy for driving a connector designed as a friction welder.

The strapping device is provided with a common drive for the tensioner for producing a tensioning motion, and for the friction welder for producing an oscillating friction welding motion and for a transitioning device for producing a transitioning motion of the friction welder from a rest position to a welding position.

A mobile strapping device for strapping packaged goods with wrap-around strap, comprising a tensioner for applying a strap tension to a loop of a wrapping strap, and a connector for producing a connection in two areas of the loop of the wrapping strap disposed one on top of the other, and a chargeable energy storage means for storing energy that can be released as drive energy for motorized drive motions at least for the connector and/or for the tensioner, is intended to have high functional reliability and ease of handling despite the possibility of automated production of wrapped straps, at least to a large extent. In order to accomplish this, it is proposed that the strapping device be provided with a brushless DC motor as a drive for the tensioner and/or the connector.

Strapping device with an electrical drive

A strapping device, in particular a mobile strapping device, for strapping packaged goods with a wrap-around strap, including a tensioner for applying a strap tension to a loop of a wrapping strap. The tensioner includes a rotationally drivable tensioning wheel and a tensioning rocker that pivots relative to the tensioning wheel and cooperates with the tensioning wheel, wherein a tensioning plate is disposed at the tensioning rocker for applying a wrapping strap, and a wherein a distance between the tensioning plate and the tensioning wheel can be varied for applying a tension on the strap, said tensioner also comprising a connector, in particular a welding connector such as a friction welder, for producing a connection in two areas of the loop of the wrapping strap located one on top of the other, is intended to exhibit largely consistent tensioning characteristics even with different strap thicknesses.
