A honing machine () for honing a bore in a workpiece comprises a support structure () fixed to the machine and at least one honing unit () which is mounted on the support structure and which has a main support (), which can be mounted fixedly in relation to the support structure, and a spindle unit (), which is supported by the main support and in which a spindle shaft () is rotatably mounted, wherein the spindle shaft () is rotatable about a spindle axis () by means of a rotary drive and, at a tool-side end (), has a device for the fastening of a honing tool. The honing machine furthermore has a linear guide system which is arranged between the main support () and the spindle unit () and which serves for guiding a linear stroke movement of the spindle unit () relative to the main support (), a stroke drive for generating the stroke movement of the spindle unit (), and an alignment system () for setting the alignment of the spindle axis () in relation to the support structure (). The alignment system () is designed for the continuously variable, reversible setting of the alignment of the spindle axis () in relation to the support structure (), wherein the alignment system is designed for the independent setting of the position of the spindle axis () along two mutually perpendicular axes of translation and for the setting of the orientation of the spindle axis () in relation to two mutually perpendicular axes of rotation.

Honing machine

In the case of a method for measuring the geometry of a drilled hole in a workpiece, a measuring system is used which has a measuring unit with a measuring mandrel that can be moved bidirectionally along a travel path parallel to a measuring mandrel axis. The measuring mandrel is calibrated at least once with the use of a reference device by way of at least one reference element. During a measuring operation, the reference device is arranged in a neutral location outside the travel path of the measuring mandrel in such a way that the measuring mandrel can be introduced into the drilled hole without dipping through the reference element. To carry out a calibration operation, the reference device is moved out of the neutral location. The measuring mandrel is moved into a calibrating location, where a measurement for calibrating the measuring mandrel is carried out.

A honing machine () for honing bores in workpieces has honing spindle () which is mounted movably in a spindle housing (), is rotatable about a spindle axis () by means of a rotary drive (), is drivable in an oscillating manner parallel to the spindle axis by means of a lifting drive and, at a tool-side end, has a device for fastening a honing tool arrangement with an expandable honing tool. Furthermore, an expanding drive for expanding the honing tool is provided, wherein the expanding drive is connected to the spindle housing and is coupled to a feed rod () running in the interior of the honing spindle. The honing machine is characterized by a monocoque housing (), which has a spindle housing portion (-), which serves as the spindle housing, for receiving the rotary drive (), and an expanding system portion (-), which is formed integrally with the spindle housing portion, for receiving the expanding drive ().

A honing machine () for honing rotationally symmetrical bore holes in workpieces has a honing spindle (), which is movably mounted in a spindle housing (), is rotatable about a spindle axis () by means of a rotary drive (), can be driven in an oscillating manner parallel to the spindle axis by means of a lifting drive () and has at a tool-side end means for securing a honing tool arrangement (), which has a tool body () carrying at least one honing element, which by axial displacement of a tool-side expanding element () that is axially displaceable inside the tool body can be infed radially in relation to a tool axis () and can be pressed by a pressing force against an inner side of a bore hole to be machined. Also provided is an expanding system with a machine-side expanding rod (), which is guided inside the honing spindle (), is axially displaceable by means of an expanding drive () in relation to the honing spindle and has a tool-side end portion (), for coupling onto the tool-side expanding element (). The honing machine has a control device () for controlling operating movements of the honing spindle and the expanding system and a force measuring system with a force sensor () for generating a sensor signal proportional to the pressing force and a transmission path for transmitting the sensor signal or a signal derived therefrom to the control device. The force sensor () is arranged in the region of the tool-side end portion () of the machine-side expanding rod () and is connected to the control device by way of a telemetric transmission path.

A honing machine comprises a machining unit for honing equipped with a tool spindle. It includes a machine base with an upper side and an upper machine part with an underside. The upper machine part has a vertical column, which has on its outer surface in an upper column region devices for receiving the machining unit that is equipped with a tool spindle. The machine further comprises an annular table with an underside, the annular table being arranged around the column in a lower column region and having a device carrier, which is rotatable about a vertical axis of rotation, for receiving at least one workpiece receiving device. The annular table and the upper machine part are respectively arranged with their underside on the upper side of the machine base and are mounted fixedly in place on the machine base.
