An apparatus can measure a tensile force in a continuously running material, such as a material web or strand. The apparatus can facilitating an improved absorption of force and a more precise measurement while at the same time enabling simpler manufacture and easier installation.

Measuring a tensile force

The present disclosure relates an apparatus for controlling the lateral offset of webs of material. The apparatus can include a support structure for supporting a roll and a mechanism for lifting the web of material off the roll. The support structure can include a fixed portion and at least one movable portion. The roll is preferably journaled to first mountings, the first mountings being attached to the movable portion of the support structure, so that the roll can be moved together with the first mountings. A potential advantage of this design is that the journal bearing of the roll on a respective shaft can be configured more easily and given smaller dimensions. According to a further aspect of the disclosure, the lifting mechanism can include at least two single rollers, rotatably journaled to two lateral supports. Such single rollers are advantageously arranged along a circular-arc plane. The web of material can thus be deflected with as large a radius as possible. This can reduce undesirable back-sway of the sagging portion of the web of material as a result of the intermittent operation. The end portions of the circular-arc plane can also extend tangentially to the provided direction of travel of the web of material, thereby potentially resulting in crease-free deflection of the web of material.

Apparatus for controlling the lateral offset of webs of material

The present invention relates to an apparatus for emitting light, comprising linearly arranged devices for radiating light. According to the invention, modular elements are provided which carry the devices for radiating light. The modular elements each carry one device for radiating light and can each be installed and replaced separately in the apparatus for emitting light. This facilitates simpler maintenance of the apparatus. According to a further aspect of the invention, a cooling system is provided to increase the life of the apparatus. According to a further aspect of the invention, a special diaphragm and a diffuser are provided in order to generate a more efficient light output or a more efficiently bundled light beam.

Apparatus for emitting linear light

The apparatus for emitting light according to the present disclosure can include one or more linearly arranged devices for radiating light and one or more optical components which can be inserted into extruded profile. The extruded profile can be configured as hollow in an exemplary embodiment and can have an exit aperture for the egress of light from the extruded profile. The extruded profile can advantageously be configured in one piece, thereby permitting much easier assembly. Finally, the effect can also be achieved that dirt particles are not able to get into the carrier structure as readily, since a one-piece extruded profile has apertures that must be sealed only on one of its long sides and at its ends. The extruded profile can be used for different lighting tasks. The light-radiating devices can be inserted in variable positions in slots inside the extruded profile. In addition, the ideal optical components can be chosen and inserted in positions provided for them. This can make for a modular system that can be used in many different ways without the need to adapt or replace either the extruded profile or the inserts (the light-radiating devices and the other optical components).
