A system is provided for generating a live media segment asset. Manifest data and indexed metadata are inserted to a live media segment asset manifest based on an identifier in a received request. The indexed metadata is associated with a media segment from an indexed media content referenced in a first programming schedule. A live media segment asset is generated based on a context parameter and the insertion of the manifest data and the indexed metadata. The indexed media content is referenced by the identifier for the generation of the live media segment asset.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, transmitting a first request that includes a key, wherein the key identifies: a processing system that is a targeted recipient of an advertisement, a stream in which a primary content item is being provisioned to the processing system, and a service provider, based at least in part on the transmitting of the first request, obtaining information pertaining to an advertisement from a device of the service provider, and inserting the information within a portion of the stream corresponding to a break in the primary content item. Methods and apparatuses for a modular and extensible advertisement request

A system is provided for generating a live media segment asset. A first programming schedule that references one or more pre-encoded media assets and/or one or more live input streams is published. A request that comprises one or more identifiers is received. Based on the one or more identifiers in the received request, manifest data and indexed metadata associated with one or more media segments from at least an indexed media content is inserted to a live media segment asset manifest. The indexed media content comprises the one or more pre-encoded media assets and/or one or more live input streams. Accordingly, based on the insertion of the manifest data and indexed metadata associated with the one or more media segments stream from at least the indexed media content referenced in the first programming schedule, and one or more context parameters, the live media segment asset is generated.

Methods and apparatus to distribute media content are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a client interface to receive a request from a wireless communication device for authorization to present media, the media received at the wireless communication device in an encrypted format. A database is to store an association of the wireless communication device and a wired network termination unit. A record interface is to, in response to the request for authorization, query the database based on an identifier of the wireless network communication device to determine whether the wired network termination unit is authorized to receive the media via a wired communication path, and in response to determining that the wired network termination unit is authorized to receive the media via the wired communication path authorize the wireless communication device to decrypt and present the transmitted media.

Methods and apparatus to distribute media content

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a machine-readable storage medium, including executable instructions that perform operations that include providing an interface to a client device to submit an advertising campaign, analyzing a plurality of segments of a plurality of subscribers of an interactive media system according to desired traits for the advertising campaign, determining content distributed by the interactive media system that correlates with the audience as selected media content, identifying a plurality of devices for a selected subscriber of the identified subscribers that receive portions of the selected media content from the interactive media system as an identified plurality of devices, analyzing break metadata for the selected media content, selecting a selected message from an advertising playlist to be assigned to the upcoming break segment, selecting a device for delivery of the selected message. Systems and methods to support cross platform addressable advertising

A process is disclosed for obtaining selected item data from a media processor, wherein the selected item data indicates an item used by an actor in a video data stream. The video data stream includes data representing the item used by the actor and icon data including multiple icons associated with a number of mobile devices. Selected icon data is obtained from the media processor, indicating a selected one of the number of mobile devices. Advertising data for the selected item is provided to the selected one of the number of mobile devices via a communication network. The advertising data is sent when the selected one of the number of mobile devices comes in proximity with a merchant having the selected item in stock. A system is disclosed for performing the process. A machine-readable device is also disclosed for use by the system and process.

System and method for sending advertising data

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method that includes providing, by a server, media content to a set top box; the media content includes an advertisement and a closed captioning line and the set top box is associated with a display device. The method also includes facilitating access to a shopping application for download at a communication device separate from the set top box, and inserting into the closed captioning line an identifier of a commerce event. The method further includes transmitting to the set top box a message for presentation on the closed captioning line on the display device, receiving a request to provide information regarding an advertised product to the communication device, and transmitting to the communication device the information regarding the advertised product. System and method for processing commerce events

The present disclosure is directed to a system and method of providing interactive content. The method may include sending, from a media device, a request for one or more interactive applications to a first content source that is distinct from a second content source that provides video content to the media device. The request may indicate one or more locations to be polled for the one or more interactive applications. The method may include generating, at the media device, a menu of selectable interactive applications displayable at a display device. The selectable interactive applications may include at least one of the one or more interactive applications corresponding to the request.

A method and system of virtual multicasting content is disclosed. The method and system disclosed enable the receipt of virtual multicast content without requiring the expensive investment in the infrastructure necessary for a network to be multicast enabled. The virtual multicasting may be performed according to a method of virtual multicasting multicast content on non-multicast enabled networks, comprising the steps of determining if an attached network is multicast enabled, if the attached network is not totally multicast enabled, querying for virtual multicast requests for the multicast content from non-multicast enabled client computers, listening for virtual multicast requests, and determining, based on the virtual multicast requests, which client computers request the multicast content, from the unicast addresses, and the requested methods of delivery for the multicast content. The network includes client computers that have unicast addresses and the at least one virtual multicast request includes a unicast address identifying a client computer of the network and a requested method of delivery for the multicast content.

Methods and apparatus to distribute media content are disclosed. An example method includes receiving a request for media content from a mobile device, determining an identity of at least one of the mobile device or a consumer using the mobile device, comparing the identity to subscription records associated with the distribution of media content to a geographically fixed consumer location; and based on the comparison, determining if the mobile device is authorized to receive the media content.
