A mass balance unit having a mass balance housing in which a mass balance shaft is rotatably journaled and a unit housing in which a drive shaft of a secondary unit is rotatably journaled. The mass balance housing is made in one piece and has a bearing section which completely surrounds a bearing opening in which the mass balance shaft is rotatably journaled. The unit housing is also made in one piece with a base section, a wall section and a bearing section. The bearing section of the unit housing completely surrounds a bearing opening in which the drive shaft is rotatably journaled. The drive shaft is operably connected to the balance shaft drivewise. The base section of the unit housing is releasably fastened to a lower side of the mass balance housing while its wall section is adjacent an end face of the mass balance housing.

Mass balance unit

The present invention relates to a balance shaft unit for mass balancing for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle including at least one balance shaft having at least one balance weight and a housing part in which the balance shaft is journaled. A first gear is associated with the balance shaft and meshes with a second gear. An introduction passage is formed in the housing part through which, starting from an assembly opening, at least one of the two gears can be introduced into the interior of the housing part, with the introduction passage extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the balance shaft. The first gear and the second gear are arranged sequentially with respect to the direction of extent of the introduction passage. The housing part surrounds the periphery of the assembly opening in one piece, with the length of the assembly opening at the outer side of the housing part in a normal plane to the longitudinal axis of the balance shaft being smaller than the sum of the diameters of the two gears. A particularly high stability is hereby reached.

Balance shaft unit

A balancing shaft unit for balancing inertia or torque in an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. The balancing shaft unit includes a housing part and at least one balancing shaft having at least one counterweight. The housing part is made in one piece and has at least two integrated bearing sections with a respective bearing opening. A respective cut-out is formed at longitudinal ends of the balancing shaft in which a respective bearing pin is arranged that is rigidly connected to the balancing shaft and which has a cylindrical bearing section that is supported in a respective one of the bearing openings.

Balancing shaft unit

The invention relates to a balancing shaft, whose balancing weight is located between two cylindrical bearing surfaces and which is configured as one piece with said weight. The end cross-sections of the balancing weight are circular segments that are delimited by an arc and a secant. The aim of the invention is to configure the balancing shaft in such a way that the mass effect and rigidity are optimal. To achieve this, the contours of the balancing weight on the plane that is fixed by the secants of the two end cross-sections taper from the two end cross-sections towards the longitudinal centre and the contours on the normal plane form a straight line in relation to said plane.

Balancing shaft

The invention relates to a balancing shaft unit for piston machines, in particular internal combustion engines, for installation in a housing with non-divided bearing seats. Said shaft unit consists of at least one balancing shaft, which is configured as one piece with its balancing weight or weights. To allow the shaft unit to be installed in a non-divided housing without any restrictions being placed on its bearing, at least one bearing of the balancing shaft is formed by a narrowing of the balancing shaft that acts as a bearing journal and by a sub-divided bearing ring that is fixed to the housing, whose external diameter is greater than the external diameter of the balancing weight or weights.

Balancing shaft unit and associated bearing

A piston engine with a compensation shaft unit, wherein a window surrounded by a flange is provided on the crankcase thereof. The flange forms a separating surface to which the housing of the compensation shaft unit is fixed by means of screws. In order to ensure clean, toothed-wheel engagement for the compensation shafts, which are integrated into the housing, and easy assembly, the compensation shaft is provided with a toothed wheel, which protrudes through the window inside the crankcase, and which is driven by a toothed wheel, which is arranged on the crankshaft, and the housing of the compensation shaft unit has a separating surface, which can be displaced in order to adjust the amount of engagement clearance on the separating surface of the crankcase before the screws are tightened.
