Pipe coupling

A valve including a valve body having a central bore for passage of fluid there through and a longitudinal axis. The valve can also include a seal installed within the valve body along the central bore. The seal can include a first seal member having an annular ring portion and a hub portion extending from the annular ring portion. The seal can also include a second seal member including an annular ring configured to engage a distal end of the hub portion and create a sealing engagement between the hub portion and the annular ring when a compressive force is applied to the first and the second seal members.

Butterfly valve with a rigid seal

A valve is disclosed and can include a valve body having a central bore for passage of fluid there through and a longitudinal axis. The valve can also include a seal installed within the valve body along the central bore. The seal can include a first seal member having an annular ring portion and a hub portion extending from the annular ring portion. The seal can also include a second seal member including an annular ring configured to engage a distal end of the hub portion and create a sealing engagement between the hub portion and the annular ring when a compressive force is applied to the first and the second seal members.

A pipe joint includes a first pipe that includes a first flange and a second pipe that includes a second flange. A first sleeve is installed within the first pipe and a second sleeve is installed within the second pipe. Further, an annular ring is positioned between the flange of the first pipe and the flange of the second pipe. The annular ring includes a first hub that extends into the first pipe and a second hub that extends into the second pipe. Moreover, a first complementary engagement structure is formed between the first sleeve and the first hub of the annular ring. The first complementary engagement structure provides a first seal interface within the pipe joint. A second complementary engagement structure is formed between the second sleeve and the second hub of the annular ring. The second complementary engagement structure provides a second seal interface within the pipe joint.

A first sleeve can be installed within the first pipe and a second sleeve can be installed within the second pipe. Moreover, an annular ring can be disposed between the flange of the first pipe and the flange of the second pipe. The annular ring is configured to engage the first sleeve and the second sleeve and create a sealing engagement between the annular ring, the first sleeve and the second sleeve when a compressive force is applied to the first sleeve, the second sleeve, or a combination thereof along a longitudinal axis of the pipe assembly.
