An inventive hot gas seal for sealing an opening, e.g. a gap or hole, in a heat shield element or between heat shield elements of a heat shield or a liner comprises at least one resilient portion for providing a force which is designed such that the hot gas seal can be held in said opening by said force and/or that the sealing efficiency of the hot gas seal is increased by said force. Thus, further means for holding the seal in place and/or for increasing the sealing efficiency are not necessary. The invention is particularly useful if the design of said resilient portion is such that the force provides a holding action and increases the sealing efficiency, at the same time.

A burner having two ignition electrodes and a bracket is provided. The bracket is arranged on the outer surface of the burner and the ignition electrodes are held, at in each case three points of their periphery, in a fixed position using the bracket. The invention relates to a cooling channel for a component conveying hot gas for the purposes of conveying a coolant along a direction of flow with a downstream and an upstream side, with a plurality of inlet apertures for a coolant, with a number of inlet apertures that vary their configuration at least partly among themselves is arranged at least in one section of the cooling channel. As a result, the heat-transfer coefficient is substantially increased at points particularly requiring cooling and therefore the cooling is substantially improved. The cooling channel is characterized by a particularly low pressure loss. Furthermore, a combustion chamber with a cooling channel of this type is specified.

According to the invention, a device for the generation of eddies creates or destroys eddies in a flowing medium in a particularly simple manner, with particularly low energy requirement with the lowest possible pressure drop, whereby the device comprises one or more profiles, for the flowing medium to flow around, which are provided with an external drive for a periodic movement relative to the flowing medium with an angular frequency &#x3c9;. The profiles are thus periodically displaced with an angular frequency &#x3c9; by an external drive.

A combustion chamber has an outer wall for mechanically supporting the combustion chamber and an inner wall forming an internal space through which combustion gases flow from a chamber inlet to a chamber outlet. An envelope is defined between the inner and outer walls and an intermediate wall divides the envelope into inner and outer cooling spaces. The cooling steam enters the outer space and exits the inner space, and the intermediate wall has a plurality of orifices through which cooling steam passes for impact cooling the inside of the inner wall. The inner wall is imperforate so that the cooling steam does not enter the internal combustion chamber space. The cooling steam flow in accordance with the invention increases cooling efficiency.
