A pneumatic booster operated by a plunger () housed in a bore () and bearing on a moving seat () which co-operates selectively with a shut-off member (). The shut-off member () is capable of selective co-operating with a stationary seat (). The plunger () being characterized by a cylindrical body () and a ring (). The ring () sliding between a front stop () and a rear stop () on the cylindrical body (). A front section of the ring () being located between the cylindrical body () and the bore () while a rear section () is designed to bear against the moving seat (). The ring () being temporarily retained in a stationary position in the bore () independent of any movement of the cylindrical body () through the action of a pivoting key () and an elastic snap ring () to allow permit and extended actuation of the booster after a sharp braking action has occurred.

A pneumatic brake booster for a motor vehicle having a rigid casing (,) with a moving partition (,) to define a front chamber (,) and a rear chamber (,) therein. A pneumatic piston (,) carried by the moving partition (,) has a bore which retains a three-way valve (,). This boosted brake device comprises a pneumatic brake booster (1) associated with a master cylinder (2), the booster operating according to a hydraulic reaction principle and comprising a movable pneumatic piston (5) carrying a control valve (7) actuated by a rod (8), as well as a partition (4) which can move under the effect of a pressure difference and which develops a boost force. The movable wall (4) is mounted slidingly with respect to the pneumatic piston (5) in order to act early on the master cylinder. The device of the invention allows greater braking for small values of the travel of the control rod.

The invention relates to a hydraulic assembly for conversion of a pressure of a brake fluid at least partially controlled by the load of the vehicle and arranged between a master cylinder and at least one brake actuator. The assembly comprises a conventional braking compensator controlled by the load of the vehicle and a pressure limiter.

A pressure reduction mechanism (10) is installed in a brake circuit of the rear axle of a motor vehicle, comprising a master cylinder (1) and at least one monitoring device, the mechanism executing the brake-pressure reduction only in specific circumstances and comprising a regulating piston (14) sliding sealingly in a bore (13) and stressed by at least one spring (16, 17) in the opening direction of a regulating valve (15). The spring (16, 17) is arranged in a sealed chamber filled with an incompressible fluid, and a solenoid valve (22) controls the opening or closing of communication between the chamber and a reservoir of the fluid under low pressure.

The invention relates to a brake compensator for a hydraulic braking circuit comprising a master cylinder (10) with two working chambers respectively connected to a subcircuit (I, II), the compensator being arranged in a subcircuit (I) comprising a first piston (22) carrying a valve mechanism (24) arranged in a communication between a working chamber of the master cylinder (10) and at least one rear wheel (16) in such a way that, in the rest position, this communication is open, and a second piston (42) subjected to the pressure prevailing in the other subcircuit (II) so as to lock the first piston (22) in the rest position in the event of the absence of a substantial pressure in the other subcircuit (II). According to the invention, a ball (32) is arranged at rest on the path of the first piston (22) in order to prevent it substantially from sliding, and a displacement of the second piston (42) under the effect of a sufficient pressure prevailing in the other subcircuit (II) removes the ball at least partially from the path.

Brake compensator for a motor vehicle

The vehicle brake pressure proportioning valve subject to the load of a vehicle and controlled fluidically comprises a piston (18) sliding in a stepped bore made in a body and carrying a normally open shutter arranged between a source of fluid under pressure and an associated brake circuit, the piston (18) being movable counter to a spring under the effect of the pressure of the fluid which tends to close the shutter, and comprising furthermore a sealed control chamber (16) connected to a load sensor (10). The proportioning valve further comprises a normally open additional valve (14) arranged between the chamber (16) and the sensor (10), in order to interrupt communication between the chamber (16) and the sensor (10) during a braking operation.
