A stationary radar device, which apart from a plurality of stationary receiving antennae, includes a plurality of stationary transmitting antennae for emitting primary radio waves. A frequency-modulated emitting signal is generated in two sequences. During the first sequences a plurality of successive first chirps are emitted by one of the transmitting antennae. A Doppler shift or a speed is computed from the temporal development of the respective first receiving signals. The second sequences are intermitted with the first sequences and each include one or more second chirps, wherein the second chirps are produced from different transmitting antennae. The second receiving signals which are effected by the second chirps are evaluated, in order by way of correlation of receiving signals that originate from second chips, which come from different transmitting antennae, to obtain a phase picture that is resolved in the azimuth.

Radar device

An RFID network, comprising a plurality of RFID read/write devices, which are connected to a central controller via a communication network, has problems as the network size increases. The mutual interference potential on the air interfaces increases, high demands are placed on the communication network with respect to availability, and the efficiency of the controller per RFID write/read device decreases. If part of the resources and the intelligence of the controller are distributed to, or forwarded to, an RFID system unit comprising the RFID read/write device, some of the load is removed from the controller. The RFID system units are notified of the operating sequences to be performed via a mission and said sequences are performed largely synchronously so that the interference potential decreases. Due to the distributed intelligence, the demand with respect to the availability of the communication network likewise decreases and the central controller can provide more resources for processing applications. The RFID network is therefore easier scalable in size and more reliable in operation.

RFID network and method for operating the RFID network

A machine tool comprises a first component, for example a dressing spindle (), and at least one second component, for example a dressing wheel (), which is removably and/or movably arranged on the first component. The first component has a first antenna coil for a wireless signal transmission, and the second component has a second antenna coil. The two components together delimit a cavity which is completely surrounded by metal. The first antenna coil and the second antenna coil are arranged together in the cavity. This forms a metal-protected radio link () between the first antenna coil and the second antenna coil, which radio link is protected from harmful external influences.

A device for operating an RFID writing/reading device with transmitted signal suppression includes the RFID writing/reading device and a reflection modulator. The RFID writing/reading device includes a transmitter, a receiver with a signal processor, a directional coupler with a first, a second, a third and a fourth port, and an antenna. The reflection modulator is connected to the fourth port of the directional coupler. The reflection modulator includes a first setting element and a second setting element. The reflection modulator is configured to reflect a copy of a transmitted signal from the RFID writing/reading device, the amplitude and phase of which copy have been weighted, to the directional coupler. The directional coupler is configured to add the weighted copy of the transmitted signal to a received signal from the antenna in the directional coupler.

Device and method for suppressing a transmitted signal in a receiver of an RFID writing/reading device

An RFID read/write station includes read/write equipment with a transmitter, a receiver, a processor unit, and at least one read/write antenna. A first passive electronic tag is coupled via a first coupling element to an output from the transmitter and an input to the receiver with a pre-set coefficient of coupling, while a second passive electronic tag is coupled to a read/write antenna through a second coupling element with a pre-set coefficient of coupling. For the purpose of periodically or aperiodically monitoring the RFID read/write station, an identification of the first and second tags can be made and/or the data content of which can be read.

RFID read/write station and a method for operating such

A method of operating a first RFID read/write device and at least one second RFID read/write device is disclosed herein. The first and second RFID read/write devices respectively comprise an RF part and a baseband part with a digital signal processor. The first and second RFID read/write devices are arranged at a usable wireless transmission distance from one another. The method comprises generating a Reader Service Signal in its baseband form in the signal processor and combining the Reader Service Signal with an RFID signal in its baseband form comprising a carrier signal, so that the RFID signal has the Reader Service Signal embedded to it in amplitude, frequency or phase. Thereafter, the RFID signal with the embedded Reader Service Signal is shifted into an RF band and the RFID signal is transmitted as a transmission signal wirelessly by the RFID read/write devices. The transmission signal from the first RFID read/write device is received by a number of electronic tags for the purpose of communicating with the first RFID read/write device. Simultaneously, the transmission signal from the first RFID read/write device is received at least by the one second RFID read/write device for the purpose of communicating with the first RFID read/write device.

Method for the operation of RFID read/write devices

A method and apparatus is disclosed for operating an RFID read/write unit with transmitting signal suppression. The RFID read/write unit comprises a radio frequency part including a transmitter and a receiver, and a baseband part based on digital signal processing. The method involves producing an amplitude and phase weighted copy of a transmitting signal, namely a compensation signal, with the baseband part. After linear modulation of the compensation signal, a resultant signal at an input of the receiver is subtracted in an addition stage from a spurious coupling signal. The transmitting signal has an auxiliary signal impressed upon a carrier signal from the RFID read/write unit with a frequency offset fd, for the purpose of processing without any DC voltage in the receiver downstream of an RX converter. The input of the receiver comprises a turn-on and turn-off attenuation element which protects the radio frequency part.

Method and device for suppressing a transmitting signal in a receiver of an RFID write/read unit

For the purpose of channel state estimation at the receiver end, a reference signal (f.sub.q (t)) is added to and is transmitted with the data signal (f.sub.i (t)) containing the actual information. The addition of the reference signal (f.sub.q (t)) to the data signal (f.sub.i (t)) is effected by means of a quadrature modulation with the reference signal on the Q-axis and with the data signal on the I-axis, the envelopes being selected so that the magnitude of the complex envelope is constant. The receiver has a function stage for preprocessing the receive signal, for quadrature detection of the data signal elements and reference signal elements (y.sub.i) and (b.sub.i) respectively, for selection of the data/reference signal and for estimating the channel state. This permits the operation of non-linear final stages of the transmitter and a maximum energy output from the transmitter, and the requirements of the short-wave transmission such as very low signal-to-noise ratio and signal interference ratio, fading, slightly drifting local oscillators and time bases, as well as high noise burst frequency are taken account of in an optimum manner. In addition the send signal has a narrow bandwidth and a low sensitivity to bit slip, which increases the connection probability and the robustness of the transmission.

Selective addresses and/or emergency messages are transmitted between individual stations by using a calling signal consisting of a synchronization signal and an address signal (SS and AS) sent out by a transmitter. The address signal (AS) used is a FSK signal which forms a diversity pair by being subdivided into two identical m-ary FSK signals. The type of operation used is a Channel in Band Scanning. The apparatus contains an address signal receiver which is realized by Real Time-Digital-Signal processing. As a result, the desired participating stations and only these can be reliably and unequivocally activated. In addition, the process is extremely insensitive to interferences.
