A method for bringing together a wrapper and a plurality of inserts can be used to form an advertising means compilation. In a region of a compilation section, the wrapper and the inserts are deposited on one another individually and in succession on a conveying element which is moved in a direction of transport. A leading edge of the wrapper is deposited offset relative to leading edges of the inserts so as to form an excess length of the wrapper. The inserts are deposited on one another, forming a stack, such that the leading edges of the inserts form a common fold edge. The excess length of the wrapper, which lies flat on the conveying element or on the stack of inserts, is folded around the fold edge and, at least in part, around the stack of inserts so as to form the advertising means compilation.

Personalized printed products are produced in which at least one individually printed sheet is combined with conventionally printed sheets. A plurality of stacks of conventionally printed sheets are made available. In addition, a print material web is made available that contains individual sheet segments and respectively one marking based on information received from a database, or a roll is provided which contains a pre-printed material web containing the sheets segments with respective markings. The markings on the individual sheet segments are read out and information read from the markings is used for selective gathering of conventionally printed sheets that are needed for the personalize printed product. Following the readout of the markings, individually printed sheets are cut from the print material web. Respectively at least one individually printed sheet is supplied to the associated, conventionally printed sheets, corresponding to the information read from the marking from the one individually printed sheet.

Method and apparatus for producing personalized printed products

For attaching at least one flat supplementary product to a printed product, one leaf of the printed product is brought from a folded configuration into an essentially horizontal orientation. A supplementary product is attached, especially by an adhesive, to this horizontal leaf, preferably from above. Supplementary products can be attached to the front side and to the rear side of the printed product. The supplementary product is, for example, a commercial sample or a card.

A method for producing a printed product that includes supplying a wire-stitched booklet to a spine processing device such that the booklet includes signatures and a spine. The method includes reshaping the spine in the spine processing device. Following the reshaping, the method further includes supplying a cover to the booklet, applying adhesive to the cover or to the reshaped spine, and combining the cover with the booklet to form the printed product. The method includes discharging the printed product from the spine processing device.

A wire stitching machine and a method for wire-stitching print products with the wire-stitching machine. At least one stitching head is arranged to move along with a respective print product to be stitched during a stitching operation. A control device is arranged to control the stitching head so that the stitching head is displaced relative to the print product following placement of a first staple by the stitching head in a print product to drive in at least one second staple at a distance to the first staple.
