A device for producing nonferrous metal diecast parts is described in which a hot-duct gate system is disposed in front of mold cavities, by means of which hot-duct gate system, it is possible to guide the hot molten metal closely in front of the mold cavities and to maintain it in the liquid condition until the next shot. As a result, solidified overflows or runner ducts and pressing residues are avoided. The new device can therefore operate in a very economical and precise manner.

Device and method for producing metal diecast parts, particularly made of nonferrous metals

A method of operating a hot-chamber diecasting machine is provided in which, after the filling of the mold, a compressional vibration is generated which prevents the molten metal from rapidly solidifying at least in the narrowest cross-section of the feed orifice between the ascending bore and the mouthpiece and the mold. In this manner, it becomes possible to increase the afterpressure upon the molten metal in the mold in comparison to conventional hot-chamber diecasting processes in order to achieve cast parts of a higher quality.

Hot chamber pressurized casting machine and process for operating same and making cast parts therewith

A pressing-in unit for a hot-chamber pressure diecasting machine permits an electro-mechanical drive for the casting plunger. In order to absorb the moments of inertia of the drive which occur during the switch-over of the casting plunger drive from the mold filling phase to the after-pressure phase, a spring element in the form of a plastic component or a liquid spring is inserted between the casting plunger and the pusher rod moved by the electric drive, which spring element is compressed by the additional path which the pusher rod still covers after the braking of the motor. The extent of the compression is selected such that the resulting axial force which is exercised by the plastic component or by the liquid spring is sufficient for causing the desired after-pressure in the molten metal.

Injection unit for a pressure die casting machine

Hot-chamber diecasting machines for processing magnesium melts include a casting vessel, an inductive heating system, and an additional ring inductor in an area of the neck of the casting vessel in order to achieve a heating also in this area. The ring inductor is formed of a one-piece tube made of an elastic material which is open at one point and can be bent open by the extent of the diameter of the neck of the casting vessel and can be pushed laterally onto the casting vessel, and through which air can also flow for the cooling.

Hot-chamber diecasting machine

A hot chamber die-casting machine has drive assemblies in the form of electrical servomotors instead of hydraulic cylinders for driving and pressing a feed bush to the nozzle. The feed rate of the servomotors is adjustable. In order to avoid the influence of heat from the smelter and the furnace, the rotational axes of the servomotors located above the smelter and the furnace are connected through an angle drive to the spindle drive and aligned approximately vertically. This makes it possible to achieve a time-optimized and precise feed regulation that is independent of temperatures which develop.

A vertical adjustment device for a mold closing unit of a hot chamber die-casting machine is provided with a shear mechanism. An electrical servomotor is provided as a drive assembly for spreading the shear mechanism apart, with the axis of the servomotor being parallel to the guide surface for the shear mechanism and driving, through an angle transmission, a spindle oriented at less than 90&deg; with respect to the drive axis of the servomotor. One end of each of the two lever pairs of the shear mechanism is connected pivotably with the closing unit or with the machine frame. The other ends are supported on the guide surface and the machine frame and on a guide surface of the closing unit.

In a hot chamber die-casting machine, inductively-operating heating devices are associated with the mouthpiece area of the casting container and the nozzle. All of these heating devices are operated with medium frequency. The inductors are cooled with air. The machine is useful for hot chamber die-casting machines that process magnesium.

Pressing-in devices of pressure die casting machines operate as hydraulically driven multiphase as pressing-in systems in order to exercise a different pressure on the casting material during different phases of the casting operation. The casting piston of a pressing-in device is driven by at least one electric motor. In this case, the drive advantageously takes place using a multispeed servomotor which interacts with a multiple-roll spindle.

A highly stressed casting vessel for hot-chamber pressure diecasting machine is provided with a cast-in, correspondingly bent pipe as the ascending bore which is welded together from three parts, in which case two different elbow parts which are connected with a straight pipe piece may each individually be adapted to the locally occurring requirements. Thus, the high-expenditure finishing and pressure losses of the flowing molten baths associated with inserted cores used in producing the ascending bore are avoided.

Casting vessel for hot-chamber pressure diecasting machines

The present invention relates to molding materials and sheets which possess improved aging and contact properties, and which comprise a plastic blend based on an acrylate-grafted vinyl chloride polymer, preferably polyvinyl chloride, having an acrylate content of 30-60% by weight, preferably 35-50% by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of vinyl chloride polymer. The molding materials and sheets further comprise another polymer or polymer blend having a glass transition temperature greater than 30.degree. C., preferably greater than 40.degree. C., which is compatible with the vinyl chloride graft polymer. If necessary, additional fillers, processing agents and other conventional additives may be included, so long as 28-44.9% by weight, preferably 30-44.8% by weight, of the vinyl chloride polymer grafted with acrylate is present and 55.1-72% by weight, preferably 55.2-70% by weight, of the other polymer or polymer blend is present.

A spray head includes a nozzle body having a front side, a rear side and internal passages for conducting fluid. The passages include inlet ports arranged in the rear side to which fluids are supplied. A spray nozzle is mounted on the front side. Metering screws are mounted in the nozzle body for controlling the volume of fluids supplied to the nozzle. Those metering screws are exposed for adjustment in the front side of the nozzle body. The spray nozzle may comprise a flexible tube, or may include a ball-shaped mounting portion which is rotatably mounted in a removable nozzle holder. Support screws for mounting the spray head to a support structure are exposed for actuation in the front side of the nozzle body.

A hot chamber die casting machine for a processing of molten metals. The die casting machine includes a frame having a slanted surface for accommodating a closing unit. The closing unit is operable from a crosshead by way of a toggle lever mechanism and is mounted on guide bars supported at the frame. The closing unit includes two mold mounting tables which are adapted to be pressed together. A scissors-type linkage mechanism is disposed below the closing unit and includes transversely joined levers with a drive arrangement being provided for spreading the linkage mechanism so as to enable an adjustment of the closing unit.

Hot chamber die casting machine

An apparatus for the production of die-cast parts is described, wherein the melt is pressured under a low pressure into a die where it solidifies. A casting unit has a drive piston guided in a casting cylinder and connected to a casting piston. The casting piston is equipped with terminal stops in both directions. The casting piston, which has a large cross-section, is able to travel into a movable half of the die. The casting cylinder is displaceably supported on a guide in the direction of the axis of the drive piston, with the terminal stops being adjustable relative to the drive piston and relative to each other. A signal transducer is associated with the stroke path of the drive piston and detects the end position of the casting piston within the moving half of the die. Thus, in a so-called pressure mold casting process, different casting strokes may be effected with the same machine, and both the end of the stroke of the casting piston and the onset of the casting stroke may be adapted to different dies by an adjustment of the entire casting unit.

Apparatus for the production of die-cast parts with adjustable piston

A method and apparatus for controlling an injection process in cold-chamber die-casting machines which work on a three-phase system whereby an automatic initiation of the third phase without delay is possible. Beginning with the plunger of the apparatus in a certain starting position, the time is measured which elapses until a pressure in a working cylinder ahead of the plunger has reached a predetermined value. The time delay of the valve system which releases the pressure medium feed in the third phase is subtracted from the time measured so as to arrive at a time differential. At the end of the time differential, which elapses when the injection process begins with the plunger in its original or starting position, serves as a starting signal to trigger the valve system.
