The present invention relates to a coating composition comprising a blend of polyesters, said blend comprising: —from 0.1 to 99.9% by weight of one or more saturated polyesters (A) and —from 99.9 to 0.1% by weight of one or more unsaturated polyesters (B), based on the total weight of polyesters (A) and (B); said one or more (A) and one or more (B) having a Weight Average Molecular Weight (Mw) of at least 15,000 g/mole, as measured by Gel Permeation Chromatograph using tetrahydrofuran as solvent, and a glass transition temperature, as measured by Differential Scanning Calorimetry, according to DIN EN 61006, method A, of at least 60° C. The present invention also relates to a high molecular weight polyester as such, the method for producing a coated substrate, the coated substrate as such, and use of the coating composition.

This invention relates to a hardener composition for an epoxy resin based two-pack coating formulation wherein the hardener composition comprises moieties having at least one structural element of formula &#x3e;N-D1-NH2, and moieties having at least one structural element of formula &#x3e;N-D2-NH&#x2014;C(O)-Q, wherein D1 is a bivalent group, D2 is a bivalent group, and Q is a univalent group, to epoxy resin based two-pack coating formulations comprising at least one epoxy resin which is a polymer containing, on average, at least two epoxide groups per molecule, and the hardener composition, and at least one of diglycerides which are esters of glycerol with two molecules of fatty acid, monoglycerides which are esters of glycerol with one molecule of fatty acid, or glycerol, or the reaction products of at least one of diglycerides or monoglycerides or glycerol with organic compounds having at least one reactive group selected from the group consisting of acylesters, acylanhydrides, isocyanates, epoxides, cyclocarbonates, and aziridines, and to the use of these epoxy resin based two-pack coating formulations as protective coatings on metallic and mineral substrates.

The invention relates to cationic water-dilutable binders comprising a water-soluble bismuth salt or chelate complex B, and a chain-extended epoxy-amine adduct EA which comprises moieties derived from epoxide compounds E2 having at least two epoxide groups per molecule, low molar mass epoxide compounds E3 having two epoxide groups per molecule, amidoamines A41 having at least one amide group and at least one amino group, made from amines A1 having at least two amino groups per molecule and a fatty acid A4, and one or more further amines A1, an amine A2 which has at least one secondary amino group per molecule, an amine A3 having at least one tertiary, and at least one primary amino group per molecule, fatty acids A4, and phenolic compounds A5 having at least two phenolic hydroxyl groups, to a process for their preparation, and to the use thereof as corrosion protection coatings.

Cationic water-dilutable binders

Water-dilutable, cationically stabilized epoxy resins ZYX are obtained by reacting, in the first stage, aromatic or aliphatic epoxide compounds Z with aliphatic amines Y to form epoxy-amine adducts ZY which are neutralized and then in aqueous dispersion are reacted in a second stage with a further epoxy resin X. The resins ZYX may be formulated without additional curatives to give aqueous coating materials which exhibit a good corrosion protection effect.
