A method of controlling peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction for a multi-antenna transmitter using OFDM is disclosed. Similar to tone injection, a Peak reduction signal is added to the subcarriers for suppressing peaks of the transmitted signal. However different schemes summarized on FIG.are proposed for such a superimposition of a peak reduction signal. Subcarriers carrying reference signals (DMRS) might not carry any peak reduction signal (FIG.) or at a lower power than data subcarriers (FIG.). Furthermore data subcarriers may be zeroed out to carry the peak reduction signal (resulting in tone insertion, FIG.) or the modulation order of the data subcarriers might be reduced to increase the power of the peak reduction signal.

Controlling peak-to-average power ratio reduction

A method for reducing peak-to-average power ratio, PAPR, in a Multiple Input Multiple Output, MIMO, communication system is disclosed. The method is performed in a precoder unit and includes: confining, by a differentiable cost function, power of a MIMO signal to be between a lower threshold, P, and an upper threshold, P, and applying a gradient method on the differentiable cost function until reaching a set power target for the MIMO signal, while keeping an Error Vector Magnitude, EVM, below a set EVM level.

Reducing peak-to-average power ratio in MIMO communication system

There is provided configuration of a communications link. The configuration involves wirelessly receiving control signalling from a user equipment by a network node functional unit. The control signalling relates to an uplink communications resource between the user equipment and the network node functional unit. The configuration further involves notifying, in response to receiving the control signalling and prior to receiving any user data associated with the control signalling from the user equipment on the uplink communications resource, a backhaul client functional unit to configure a communications link to a backhaul hub.

Communications link configuration

A method performed by a transmitting station for assisting a receiving station in mitigating effects of a narrowband interference affecting the receiving station in a wireless communications network. The transmitting station determines () a likelihood of presence of the narrowband interference. When the likelihood of presence of the narrowband interference exceeds a threshold of the likelihood, the transmitting station sends () to the receiving station a recommendation to avoid smoothing of the channel estimates of the receiving station. The recommendation indicates a high likelihood of presence of the narrowband interference.

The invention relates to communication between mobile nodes and/or node arrangements in wireless communication networks. In particular, the invention relates to a method in a radio access arrangement for improving the balance between the capacity allocated to initial access for network entry and the capacity allocated to payloads in the radio access arrangement. The radio access arrangement is configured to operatively communicate with a plurality of mobile nodes via an air interface. First, an initial access capacity is set to a value (S), and then a current initial access load is obtained (S). The invention relates to a scheduler for a TCP/IP based data communication system and a method for the scheduler. The communication system comprises a TCP/IP transmitter and a receiving unit (UE). The scheduler is associated with a Node comprising a rate measuring device for measuring a TCP/IP data rate from the TCP/IP transmitter and a queue buffer device for buffering data segments from the TCP/IP transmitter. The scheduler is arranged to receive information from the rate measuring device regarding the TCP/IP data rate and is arranged to adapt the permitted queue latency to a minimum value when the TCP/IP transmitter is in a slow start mode and to increase the permitted queue latency when the TCP/IP rate has reached a threshold value.

A cell plan operation, a Routine and a base station are disclosed wherein user entities are allocated to at least two carriers (C; C) in at least one cell (A; B) of a system (node B), the first carrier (C) having at least a first channel (DPCH), the second carrier (C) having at least a second channel (DPCH), the at least two carriers not causing interference to one another, wherein user entities (UE) may be selectively assigned to either first channel and/or the second channel. Information is gathered on respective measures relating to the noise enduring capability (MAX ROT(UEn)) of respective prevalent users within the at least one cell. Prevalent user entities are ordered according to their respective noise enduring capabilities (MAX_ROT(UEn)_UE). User entities with low noise enduring capabilities are allocated to a channel on the first carrier (C), while user entities with high noise enduring capabilities (MAX_ROT(UEn)) are allocated to a channel on the second carrier (C).

Throughput optimized carrier allocation

Power control for high speed packet data transmission

A possible power (P_POS(t)) is determined at a given instance as the maximum value of either the actual power (P_HS(t&#x2212;1)) at a previous instance or the possible power determined at a previous instance (P_POS(t&#x2212;1)), decreasing the maximum value by a predetermined value (d). Moreover, a permitted power (P_PERM(t)) at a given instance as the maximum value of either the actual power of a previous instance (P_HS(t&#x2212;1)) added with the predetermined value (d) or the determined possible power (P_POS(t)). Finally, the scheduling is performed within these limits.

An arrangement and a method for minimizing intracell and/or intercell interference for a data transmission system comprises a scheduler (). A first base station (BS) receives information from user equipments (UE-UE) in a first cell () by means of a first antenna system (Rx, Tx). The scheduler () identifies the position of each user and allots a first time slot (TS) to at least one user equipment (UE) in a first cell segment (CS) in the first cell (). The scheduler () also allots the first time slot to at least one user (UE) equipment in a second cell segment (CS) in the first cell (). The antenna system (Rx, Tx) then sends information from the base station (BS) simultaneously to all user equipments (UE, UE) allotted to the first time slot.

Method and arrangement for minimizing intracell interference in a data transmission system

The present invention relates to a method and arrangement for downlink power adjustment in a base station () comprising at least two similar hardware units: a first unit () and a second unit (), in a communications network when moving a resource from said first unit to said second unit. The method comprises configuring said resource, providing a sample of a power level, transferring said power sample from said first unit to said second unit, and controlling the power level on the second unit towards a power value provided as a power level with turned off output power on said second unit.
