A foil-wrapped vacuum insulation panel having a core, and an air-tight envelope in the form of a wrapping foil surrounding the core made of powder or granulate, wherein between the core made of powder or granulate and the air-tight wrapping foil, there is provided at least one intermediate layer of cardboard and/or paperboard, which completely envelopes the core made of powder or granulate in a powder-tight manner and is formed cuboid box which has approximately the same shape as the finished vacuum insulation element, wherein the powder or granulate is filled into the cuboid box in such an amount that the body is completely filled up to its very top, and the shape of the vacuum insulation element is acquired only via the cuboid box and not by the powder or granulate, while the structural integrity of the core is not sufficient to retain the shape of the core on its own without the surrounding cardboard or paperboard box.

Evacuated sheet material for thermal insulation

The invention relates to a method for producing an especially panel-shaped vacuum insulation element which is wrapped in a film and is filled with a powder. According to the method, the unmolded, loose powder is filled, particularly poured, into the opening of a bag which is formed from a high-barrier film and is open on one side. A filter material that is permeable to air and impermeable to powder dust is fixed to the internal face of the film bag in the area of the opening of the filled film bag such that the interior of the bag is closed in a dust-tight manner while air can still be discharged. The interior of the dust-tightly closed film bag is then evacuated and the evacuated film bag is air-tightly closed in a vacuum.

Method for the production of a vacuum insulation element wrapped in a film, filled with powder

The invention is directed to a method and a system for using a thermal measurement method to determine the gas pressure in a vacuum element or in an evacuated body having an envelope and comprising on its exterior a flap delimited by two film faces that are joined together in the region of the free edge of the flap; the system according to the invention is characterized, on the one hand, by the fact that the space between the two film faces of the flap communicates with the space inside the envelope of the vacuum element and is at least partially filled with an open-pored, thin material layer, and, on the other hand, by a device for measuring the gas-pressure-dependent heat exchange coefficient of the flap at the location of the material layer; the invention also relates to the manner of operation of this measuring device.

Method and device for determining the gas pressure in evacuated bodies

The invention relates to the determination of the gas pressure in an evacuated thermal insulating board () having an insulating core () covered by a film (). The inventive device comprises an assembly, which is integrated between the insulating core and the covering film of the thermal insulating board and which has a body that acts as a heat sink () (Al, Co, Fe, ceramic), and the body's thermal conductivity and thermal capacity relative to volume are greater than those of the insulating core. Said assembly also comprises a test layer () (0.3 mm nonwoven fabric made of plastic and glass fibers), which is arranged between the heat sink and the covering film and has a defined thermal conductivity that changes according to the gas pressure inside the evacuated thermal insulating board. From the exterior, a sensor device is applied to or pressed against the test device, which is placed inside the evacuated thermal insulating board and which is covered by the covering film. Said sensor device comprises a body () (coppered steel 78&#xb0; C., thermoelement ()) having a distinctly different temperature than that of the test device (heat sink) whereby creating a heat flux, which is influenced by the thermal conductivity of the test layer, said thermal conductivity varying according to the gas pressure inside the thermal insulating board, and the magnitude of this heat flux is metrologically determined. The heat sink () can be provided in the form of a bottom part of a container for a getter material.
