A weapons system (10) with at least one barrel (12) is provided, wherein the barrel is arranged on a weapon carrier (14) which is mounted by trunnions (16) between cradle supports (18), and its elevation is adjustable. A separate ammunition container (26, 28), which is connected to the corresponding barrel (12) by an ammunition feed canal (22, 24), is associated with the barrel (12). The ammunition feed canal (22, 24) has a rigid first canal partial section (36, 44) and a rigid second canal partial section (38, 46), which are connected to one another via arc-shaped connection end sections (40, 42; 48, 50). The connection end sections (40, 42; 48, 50) are provided at the corresponding trunnion (16) such that the connection between the barrel (12) and the associated ammunition container (26, 28), and consequently excellent ammunition feed, are guaranteed in any desired elevation position.

Weapons system with at least one barrel

To reduce the concentration of the gases generated during firing in a combat space behind a gun barrel, a smoke exhaust device (8) is arranged in a middle zone of the gun barrel (7). This smoke ehaust device (8) is joined to the gun barrel (7) in a gas-tight manner in the outward direction and is connected, in the inward direction, to the caliber bore (5) of the gun barrel (7) via an obliquely extending blow-off bore (3) and via Y-shaped valve bores (2). Pressure is admitted into the valve bores (2) through a check valve (6) made in the form of an assembly of layered leaf springs. Good filling of the smoke exhaust device with gases generated during firing is thus possible along with very rapid closing of the check valve, which is decisive for the desired long blow-off time of the gases through the blow-off bore (3).

The invention provides an electrical igniter for an adaptive cartridge of a subcaliber barrel system by which the firing pin extension (12) is arranged axially movable by means of a guide (13) made of an electrically non-conductive material. A slide valve (22) grips a safety rod (17) in the guide (13). The safety rod (17) is situated adjacent the breech mechanism (6) only such that the firing pin (12) borders on the percussion cap (29) of the cartridge (11). By an open breech mechanism (6) the safety rod (17), under spring tension, is moved in the direction of the cartridge (11) together with the firing pin (12).

Adaptive cartridge for a subcaliber barrel system

A front insert barrel bearing is adjustable by means of an adjusting device having two eccentric bushing arranged one within the other, of a front insert barrel bearing, the bushings are rotatable relative to each other, to change the position in which they support the insert gun barrel whereby a desired aiming direction of the insert barrel is made possible and a common mean point of impact with the barrel of the combat tank is achieved.

An adapter cartridge for insertion tube systems of firearms has a jacket casing which is made of fiber reinforced plastic that is joined securely to the cylindrical part of a tube base. The tube base has an incircling drawn shell rim that is securely enclosed by a plastic ring.

An insert for a weapon barrel for facilitating the firing of a small caliber ammunition comprises a tubular member having a bore defining a distinct caliber with one end having an exterior surface ending in a raised shoulder forming an abutment for a compensating bushing positioned on the exterior surface and abutting the shoulder. A sleeve is positioned on the exterior surface alongside and abutting against the bushing. This end of the insert carries a first locking mechanism for locking the sleeve radially in the barrel. This includes a tapered spreader sleeve which engages with a tapered exterior surface of the sleeve positioned on the insert adjacent the compensating bushing. The spreader sleeve is urged into bearing engagement with the tapered surface of the other sleeve by means of a knot threaded over the insert and advanced toward the spreader sleeve. A safety key is insertable through an opening in the sleeve and it engages in a longitudinal slot formed on the insert. The opposite end of the insert includes a collet which bears against a raised annular portion of the insert which forms a stop. The collet carries a plurality of damping elements over which a thrust collar having a taper is positioned and the clamping elements are urged by one or more clamping screws to engage this end tightly against the conical portion of the cartridge chamber of the weapon barrel. A spreader sleeve at this end is advantageously threaded over a collar formation of the collet at its outer end, and the collet itself is advantageously threadably engaged on the insert.

Insert for reducing the caliber of a weapon

An arrangement for gastightly sealing the gap between the cartridge chamber and the bottom of an insert which is received in a gun barrel 1 to be able to fire cartridges of a smaller caliber. The gastightness is obtained substantially by providing that the neck of the subcaliber cartridge case inserted in the cartridge chamber protrudes into the bottom of the barrel insert and that the outer surface of the neck snugly fits the cylindrical surface of the insert.

An adaptation cartridge comprises a firing pin casing which is screwed into a cartridge chamber or cartridge chamber tube and is secured against rotation by a radially displaceable slide. The cartridge is used for training on a gun having a subcaliber barrel adapter.

A two-barrel revolver-type firearm comprising two fixed barrels to be fired alternately, which are equipped with igniting systems and drives of their own, independent of each other. A drum with an odd number of chambers alternately aligns a chamber with each barrel for alternate firing of cartridges through the two barrels.

A cooling arrangement for the gun barrels of firearms, in particular automatic firearms and high-performance machine cannons. The arrangement includes radially outwardly directed cooling pasageways between the individual projectile chambers provided in the drum in the region of the end portion of the gun barrel axially adjoining the drum, and which are connected with a main passageway in the hollow-bored longitudinal barrel axis for the central cooling medium infeed. Connected to the nozzles of the radially directed passageways, which nozzles extend essentially in parallel with the longitudinal axis of the drum, closure members are interposed in the radial cooling passageways which automatically open and close in dependence upon the drum position and only during firing, whereby the outlet openings of the nozzles positioned in the axial end surface of the drum and, during rotation of the drum, will presently openly communicate for a short period of time with the associated end portion of the gun barrel.
