A laboratory instrument comprising a single base plate is presented. The single base plate comprises at least one embedded consumable compartment, an embedded sample processing compartment, an embedded waste compartment, an embedded activation device compartment, an embedded rack receiving compartment, or a combination thereof. A laboratory system and a method adjusting the positioning of at least one pipetting device or handling device of a laboratory instrument or laboratory system are also disclosed.

Laboratory instrument base plate

An analytical apparatus to be installed on a substantially horizontal surface of a diagnostic laboratory is presented. The apparatus comprises a bottom side and an upper working side, the bottom side having at least three casters for rolling the apparatus on a surface and at least two feet. The casters have a fixed height and at least one caster is higher than the other casters so that the apparatus is unbalanced when it is rolled on the surface. The at least two feet are individually adjustable in height so that when the height of the feet is adjusted the upper working side is leveled and the apparatus rests on the at least two feet and the higher caster. An analytical system comprising the analytical apparatus and a method of installing the analytical apparatus and the system are also described.

Installation of analytical apparatus

A combination of an analytical apparatus with a platform for mounting such an apparatus comprising at least two units, and a platform on which said apparatus is mounted is disclosed, said platform comprising at least one platform element, and multiple feet for placing the platform elements on a surface. The feet are individually adjustable in height.

Analyzer assembly platform

An automated nucleic acid analysis method and analytical system are described comprising separate modules, wherein the air flow of any one of said modules is controlled and wherein at least the air flow between the module for isolation and purification of the analyte and the module for analysis of the analyte are separated.

Furthermore, a method for pipetting a liquid with a decreased potentiality of contamination of an analytical instrument as well as liquids or/and samples placed on said analytical instrument is provided. Moreover, an analytical instrument at least comprising a pipetting device, and a device for catching drops from a pipette mechanically attached to said pipetting device wherein the movement of the device for catching drops is coupled to the movement of said pipetting device is illustrated.
