A high frequency adapter for connecting a high frequency antenna to an antenna connector. The high frequency adapter comprises a waveguide adapted to transmit high frequency waves to and from the high frequency antenna. Further, it comprises an impedance matching element disposed within the waveguide. Further, the high frequency adapter comprises a conductive inner conductor electrically and mechanically connected to the impedance matching element and a conductive sheath connecting to the waveguide. In addition, the high frequency adapter includes an electrically insulative spacer element disposed between the sheath and the inner conductor, thereby insulating the inner conductor from the sheath and fluidically sealing the waveguide.

A radar chip including a waveguide coupling configured to couple a radar signal of the radar chip into and out of an antenna or a waveguide of a radar gauge is provided, the waveguide coupling including: a radio frequency substrate including a line, a radiating element, and a substrate-integrated waveguide disposed therebetween and connected thereto, configured to transmit the radar signal between the radar chip and the antenna or waveguide of the radar gauge and to couple the radar signal into and out of the antenna or waveguide of the radar gauge. A method of fabricating a radar chip having a waveguide coupling is also provided.

The invention relates to a waveguide arrangement for guiding electromagnetic waves, which comprises a rectangular waveguide and a circular waveguide. The rectangular waveguide merges into the circular waveguide at an angle. The circular waveguide is filled with a dielectric which projects into the rectangular waveguide in a transition section. The dielectric filling is beveled at a defined angle in the transition section so that a transition surface is formed by the inner edge at the transition of the waveguide arrangement and the end face of the rectangular waveguide at the transition. The dielectric filling is preferably flush with the closing wall of the rectangular waveguide.
