The invention relates to a method for determining the soil stiffness (k) of a soil area (). For this purpose, a vibration-excited contact body () of a soil compacting device () acts upon the soil surface () in such a way that during the acting upon an unsteady loss of contact (jumping) between the soil surface () and the contact body () occurs. While acting upon the soil surface, parameters (f) of the oscillation excitation and parameters ({umlaut over (x)}) of the oscillation response (x) of the contact body () are determined and from these in combination with known parameters (m, r, m) of the soil compacting device () the soil stiffness (k) is computed.

Method for determining the stiffness and/or damping of an area of a physicalness

A method and device for machining materials includes a tool drum having tool shafts that support machining tools that can be driven in rotation. A drive element rotates the tool shafts and the tool drum relative to each other, and a drum carrier can be moved relative to the material by using a movement device. A control device varies the speed of the relative movement between the tool carrier and material and the rotational speed of the tool drum. To avoid critical operating points, one measuring sensor measures the natural translational vibration and/or another measuring sensor determines the rotational vibrations of the tool drum. The control device has a vibration analysis module, by which a vibration spectrum can be determined, and at least one controller module, by which drive parameters can be controlled as a function of the vibrations determined by the analysis module.

The invention relates to a soil compacting device having an exciter part (), which has an unbalance exciter () for producing an intermittent exciter force and a contact surface () for transmitting a force component of the exciter force directed perpendicularly to the contact surface () to the soil surface () to be compacted as a pulsing compressive force. The device also has a vibration damper part (), which is connected to the exciter part () by means of a spring-damper unit (). Arrangement for providing a pulsing compressive force

The invention relates to a system for co-ordinated soil cultivation, said system comprising a plurality of soil compacting devices (W, W) used to determine location-related relative compacting values (V(W; TB, xi, yi;I&#x2212;1 . . . n)), and a calibrating device (EV) used to determine location-related absolute compacting values. A calculating unit (R), which is connected to the compacting devices (W, W) and the calibrating device (EV) in such a way as to transmit messages, is used to correlate the obtained relative and absolute location-related compacting values. A system control (CPU, . . . , CPU) is embodied in such a way that the location-related relative compacting values of the compacting devices (W, W) and the location-related absolute compacting values are transmitted to the calculating unit (R) in a continuous manner, stored therein, and in the event of the presence of compacting values in the same location, compacting correlation values are calculated and transmitted to the compacting devices where they are stored as correction values.

According to the invention, a single device permits the relative soil rigidity values of a section of soil to be determined in a rapid measuring method and in addition, absolute soil rigidity values to be determined in a slightly slower method. If the device is calibrated with the aid of the measured absolute values, a rapid absolute measurement can also take place. The device can also be used for soil compaction.
