In aspects of application-initiated input device activation, a media server receives a request to stream an application to a display device. The media server activates an input device connected to the display device in response to the request. The media server restricts use of the display device to the input device while the application remains active on the display device.

An electronic device included a first energy storage device coupled to a second energy storage device by a conductor. An electronic device includes a device housing and a blade assembly carrying a blade and slidably coupled to the device housing. The electronic device includes a translation mechanism operable to slide the blade assembly relative to the device housing. The electronic device includes one or more processors operable with the translation mechanism. The one or more processors automatically transition the blade assembly to the peek position when a front-facing imager or front-facing loudspeaker is required unless a privacy mode of operation is enabled, wherein transition of the blade assembly to the peek position is precluded.

When the geometric configuration changes, the one or more processors can generate a visible display area adjustment animation to smoothly transfer the content to a new visible area.

Compute box and corresponding systems and methods for formatting content for presentation on flexible content presentation companion devices

A compute box includes a communication device and one or more processors. The one or more processors, in response to the communication device being electronically in communication with a flexible content presentation companion device and at least one other flexible content presentation companion device, determine a geometric configuration of each flexible content presentation companion device. The one or more processors format content for presentation on the visible area available on the flexible content presentation companion device and another visible area of another flexible content presentation companion device and cause the communication device to deliver the content to each flexible content presentation companion device. When the geometric configuration of any flexible content presentation companion device changes, the one or more processors can generate a visible display area adjustment animation to smoothly transfer the content to a new visible area.
