A modular power system includes a fuel cell module and a battery module. The fuel cell module has a plurality of fuel cell stacks. Each fuel cell stack includes a plurality of fuel cells. The plurality of fuel cells is arranged in a vertical orientation in one or more planes located above and perpendicular to a chassis of the vehicle. The battery module has a plurality of batteries arranged in one or more battery stacks. The battery module is electrically connected to the fuel cell module. The plurality of batteries is located in one or more planes directly above and parallel to the chassis.

A cooling plate assembly for dual-sided cooling, the cooling plate assembly can include a first cooling plate and a second cooling plate. The first cooling plate that has a first cooling plate connector side and a first cooling plate cooling side that is opposite the first cooling plate connector side. In some cases, a control system for a multifunctional machine includes three or more control circuits. At least two of the hydraulic fluid pump have different flow rates.

A vehicle system and method of controlling a vehicle engine are provided. The method includes determining a speed of an engine in the vehicle system including a hydraulic system and a vehicle propulsion system operatively coupled to the engine. The method includes determining that the engine speed is decreasing and an actual engine speed is less than a target engine speed, and determining a current gear setting and one or more operating parameters of the hydraulic system in response to determining that the engine speed is decreasing and the actual engine speed is less than the target engine speed. The first power source includes a fuel cell system and the second power source is selected from a battery system or an engine, and the input includes a life or health of at least one of the first power source or the second power source.

A method includes detecting a change in a loading condition on an engine based on use of an implement system including a pump driven by the engine, an actuator fluidly coupled to the pump, and an implement repositionable with the actuator. The change in the loading condition is detected based on a variation in a command signal from a joystick that controls movement of the implement, an outlet pressure of the pump, a displacement of the pump, and/or an engagement signal of a clutch positioned to selectively couple the pump to the engine. The method further includes commanding a fueling system to increase an amount of fuel provided to the engine and/or an air handling system of the machine to increase an amount of air and/or a boost pressure of the air provided to the engine in response to detection of an increasing loading condition based on the variation.

An internal combustion engine operatively coupled with a variable load and an electronic control system operatively coupled with the internal combustion engine. The electronic control system is structured to receive an engine speed target value, a first engine speed feedback value, and a second engine speed feedback value. The electronic control system processes the first engine speed feedback value and the second engine speed feedback value to determine a feedforward correction value. The feedforward correction value is determined to correct for first variation between the second engine speed feedback value and the first engine speed feedback value due to variation in the variable load and to distinguish between the first variation and a second variation due to operation of the internal combustion engine. The control system processes the first engine speed feedback value target, the second engine speed feedback value and the feedforward correction value to determine an engine fueling command, and controls fueling of the internal combustion engine using the fueling command.
