Aspects of the disclosure are directed to combining an information technology services management (ITSM) controller with one or more processing units into a single integrated circuit via chiplets. An ITSM chiplet can connect to one or more processing unit chiplets via one or more respective die-to-die (D2D) interconnects that physically isolate the ITSM chiplet from the processing unit chiplet. Including the ITSM chiplet with the processing unit chiplets in an integrated circuit can save cost, increase reliability, and reduce assembly time.

Method and apparatus for integrated information technology services management controller

In embodiments, an apparatus to predict failure of a laser is presented. The apparatus may include a memory to store a reference model of bias current change for a laser as a function of time and temperature, one or more sensors to detect: temperature, elapsed operating time and bias current of the laser, and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory and to the one or more sensors. The processor may be to calculate an actual bias current change &#x394;IA at a current laser temperature, and an expected bias current change &#x394;IE, based at least in part on the reference model and an average operating temperature, subtract &#x394;IE from &#x394;IA, and if the difference is greater than a pre-defined value &#x3b1;, output a signal. Related methods and non-transitory computer-readable media may also be presented.

Laser failure early warning indicator

Embodiments herein relate to optoelectronic transceivers with power management. An optoelectronic device may include a photodetector, a loss of signal (LOS) detector coupled with the photodetector, and a re-timer coupled with the LOS detector, wherein a component of the re-timer is to be disabled in response to a detection by the LOS detector that an optical signal has not been received for a predetermined time period. In some embodiments, the LOS detector is coupled with a driver disable input of the re-timer and a driver component of the re-timer is to be disabled. In some embodiments, a clock data recovery circuit, a transmit module re-timer and modulator, and/or a laser may be disabled. In various embodiments, components may be re-enabled in response to detection that an optical signal is being received and/or an electrical signal is received for optical transmission. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Optoelectronic transceiver with power management

Some examples include a plurality of secure low-power compressive sensing sensor blocks able to communicate with each other and with a computing device to perform spatial and/or temporal compressive sensing. As one example, a first sensor block may obtain data by randomly sampling a sensor signal from a first sensor coupled to the first sensor block. The first sensor block may send the data obtained from the randomly sampled sensor signal to at least one other sensor block of the plurality of sensor blocks, wherein the data is distributed to the plurality of sensor blocks. In addition, at least one of the first sensor block or another sensor block may process the data to at least one of packetize or encrypt the data. The first sensor block and/or the other sensor block may send the processed data to the computing device.

Compressed sensing with machine-to-machine communication

Some examples include a secure low-power sensor platform able to be used for activity monitoring or other purposes. For instance, a sensor system may sense sparse signals using compressed sensing. As one example, compressed sensing may be used to obtain sparse signals from analog sensor signals received from one or more sensors. The data obtained by compressed sensing may be sent subsequently to a computing device to reconstruct the sensor signal. Examples herein enable lower power usage, lower cost, and lower weight than conventional devices, while also enabling processing advantages, such as less overall data to process and lower data storage utilization.

Ultra low power platform for remote health monitoring

A circuit for recovering data from an incoming data stream according to one embodiment includes a capacitor and a substantially constant current source for charging the capacitor. A subcircuit generates a signal causing the capacitor to discharge upon detecting a first type of transition in the incoming data stream, the capacitor re-charging upon being at least partially discharged. A comparator compares a voltage on a node coupled to the capacitor to a reference voltage, the comparator outputting a first signal if the voltage on the node is higher than the reference voltage and outputting a second signal if the voltage on the node is lower than the reference voltage, the first signal being associated with a first logic value, the second signal being associated with a second logic value.

Clock-free activation circuit

An LED driver includes an embedded non-volatile memory (NVM) capable of being programmed and storing control data for setting a variety of features of the LED driver, such as the maximum current for driving the LEDs, analog parameters such as the resistance of the internal resistor for setting the reference current for the LEDs, and the operation modes of the charge pump of the LED driver. This enables implementation of multiple LED driver product options without the need for different metallization steps during the fabrication process for the LED driver.

Programmable LED driver

An apparatus and method for measuring optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) in a node of an optical data network is disclosed. A peak power level and an average power level are measured for an optical input to an optical detector. The OSNR is determined by selecting an OSNR having the peak power level and the average power level associated with an optical signal traversing an optical path having attenuation and optical amplifier noise.

System and method for monitoring OSNR in an optical network

An apparatus and method for detecting a signal in an optical data network is disclosed. A peak power level and an average power level are measured for an optical input to an optical detector. A threshold power level is associated with each average power level that is sufficient to distinguish a data signal form optical noise at the average power level. A signal is detected if the measured peak power level exceeds the threshold power level appropriate for the average power level. In one embodiment, a threshold value of a ratio of the peak power level to the average power level is calculated and a signal is detected if the ratio of the measured peak power level to the average power exceeds the threshold value.
