An outage detection system identifies a reported incident as a candidate outage incident based upon an input received from a first user of a customer concerning the reported incident; determines whether the candidate outage incident relates to at least a threshold number of prior candidate outage incidents reported by other users; and, if so, associates the candidate outage incident with the prior candidate outage incidents, and identifies the candidate outage incident and the associated prior candidate outage incidents as relating to an outage.

Proactive outage detection based on user-reported issues

Containers are allocated to tenants in a multi-tenant container system in a SaaS environment. Resource usage by containers is monitored to determine one or more per-tenant resource metrics, where each container provides an isolated execution space dedicated to a corresponding tenant. Data storage may also be isolated for each tenant. Each tenant is allocated resources associated with one or more containers. Containers are automatically allocated to tenants based at least in part upon the one or more per-tenant resource metrics.

Elastic multi-tenant container architecture

A virtual agent for resolving an issue with one or more objects is described, wherein each object is accessible by one of more users of a customer. The virtual agent receives information derived from one or more coded optical indicia specifying an intent of a virtual agent conversation, wherein the intent identifies an issue to be resolved; and based on the intent, process the information to further resolution of the issue. The received information may further specify at least one parameter, wherein the at least one parameter represents supplemental information required for resolution of the issue.

Techniques are provided to manage how router advertisement messages are forwarded for ultimate wireless transmission in a wireless network. In one embodiment, a multicast router advertisement message intended for a virtual local area network is converted into individual unicast router advertisement messages directed to specific wireless mobile client devices that are part of that virtual local area network. In another embodiment, router advertisement messages are routed between controllers according to the current location of a wireless mobile client device. In still other embodiments, techniques are provided to minimize the volume of the router advertisement messages sent over a wireless network, and to proactively send a unicast router advertisement message to a mobile client device that has performed a handoff, without waiting for a router solicitation message.

Managing router advertisement messages to support roaming of wireless mobile client devices

Methods, apparatuses and systems facilitating deployment and configuration of managed access points in hierarchical wireless network systems. An embodiment of the invention facilitates deployment and configuration of conventional, substantially autonomous access points operating in connection with a central management node, such as a server or appliance. In another embodiment, the present invention facilitates deployment and configuration of light-weight access points in a hierarchical wireless network system. In one embodiment, the present invention also provides a streamlined encryption key exchange protocol adapted to hierarchical wireless network system architectures.

Managed access point protocol

In one implementation, a wireless network device is automatically accessed and configured through a mobile device. The mobile device receives provisioning data encoded for installation and operation of a network device and decodes the provisioning data to identify at least one access parameter for the network device. The mobile device accesses a wireless network of the network device according to the access parameter. Once access has been established, the mobile device transmits a configuration signal including a network configuration setting through the wireless network to the network device for the installation of the network device. The network device is provisioned based on the network configuration setting.

A controller controls access points (APs) in a network of APs. The controller causes the first AP to establish an Internet Protocol (IP) tunnel with a router connected with a wired network and over which data packets are routed between the wired network and a client device wirelessly connected to the first AP. The controller receives a roam indication that the client device is wirelessly connected with a second AP. In response to the indication, the controller instructs the first AP to maintain the IP tunnel with the router and instructs the second AP to establish an inter-AP tunnel with the first AP in order to route traffic between the wired network and the client device over both the IP tunnel and the inter-AP tunnel.

Wireless client device roaming among clustered access points

In one embodiment, a transmitting node may be configured to transmit a wireless advertisement frame over a computer network, wherein the frame includes a source address of a reachable node being advertised, a destination address to which the reachable node is to be advertised, a transmitter address of the transmitting node, and a receiver address of a wireless access point to which the wireless advertisement frame is to be received. Also, the wireless access point may be configured to receive the wireless advertisement frame from the network, and in response, transmit a reflected wireless advertisement frame having the source address of the reachable node, the destination address to which the reachable node is to be advertised, a transmitter address of the access point, and a receiver address that indicates the reflected frame is to be accepted by any appropriate receiver excluding the transmitting node.

Bridging wireless and wired media in a computer network

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a packet from a source wireless device at a second switch, the source wireless device previously associated with a first switch and roamed to and associated with the second switch, wherein a point of presence for the source wireless device is maintained at the first switch, inserting into the packet a direction indicator, and forwarding the packet from the second switch to the first switch, the direction indicator identifying the packet as being transmitted towards the point of presence for the source wireless device to prevent a forwarding loop. An apparatus is also disclosed.

Maintaining point of presence for clients roaming within a layer 2 domain

In one embodiment, a wireless access point receives a wireless advertisement frame having a source address field that indicates a reachable node being advertised, a destination address field that indicates a destination to which the reachable node is to be advertised, a transmitter address field that indicates a transmitting node from which the wireless advertisement frame is received, and a receiver address field that indicates the access point. The wireless access point then transmits a reflected wireless advertisement frame having a source address field that indicates the reachable node, a destination address field that indicates the destination, a transmitter address field that indicates the wireless access point, and a receiver address field that indicates both a plurality of receivers the reflected wireless advertisement frame is to be accepted by, and a node that is to be excluded from accepting the reflected wireless advertisement frame.

Described herein are techniques that provide for the transmission of a multicast stream that can resend frames that were not received using the partial state block acknowledgement mechanism. In an example embodiment, an access point reserves a channel for a transmission opportunity of a sufficient length to allow the sending of multicast data, block acknowledgement request, and receipt of a block acknowledgement. Optionally, the transmission opportunity may be of sufficient length to enable packets that re resent to be sent during the transmission opportunity, thereby preventing other stations on the channel from gaining control of the channel. Alternatively the access point may employ an appropriate backoff between TXOPs to AP prevent (T)DLS traffic to the recipients of the multicast stream. The access point does not send any frames from other queues during the transmission opportunity.
