A method of electrochemical exfoliation, may include: electrochemically exfoliating a parent material comprising coke, wherein the electrochemically exfoliating comprises introducing the parent material into a porous chamber, applying pressure to the porous chamber to thereby compress the parent material in the porous chamber, and applying a potential bias to the parent material while at least a portion of the parent material is in contact with an electrolyte solution to produce a mixture of exfoliated material and unexfoliated parent material, wherein the exfoliated material comprises exfoliated graphene; and separating at least a portion of the exfoliated material from the unexfoliated parent material.

Producing graphene from coke using electrochemical exfoliation

Processes and systems for electrochemical exfoliation that use a compression reactor and, more particularly, to processes and systems for electrochemical exfoliation of planar parent materials, such as graphite. A reactor for electrochemical exfoliation may include a container configured to hold an electrolyte solution. The reactor may further include a porous chamber, wherein the porous chamber is configured to hold a parent material in fluid communication with the electrolyte solution. The reactor may further include a pressure source positioned to apply a pressure along a length of the porous chamber to thereby compress the parent material in the porous chamber. The reactor may further include a first counter electrode. The reactor may further include a working electrode. The reactor may further include an electrical power source in electrical communication with the first counter electrode and the working electrode.

Compression reactors and methods for electrochemical exfoliation

This invention relates to a catalyst system including the reaction product of a support (such as a fluorided silica support that preferably has not been calcined at a temperature of 400&#xb0; C. or more), an activator and at least two different transition metal catalyst compounds; methods of making such catalyst systems, polymerization processes using such catalyst systems and polymers made therefrom.

Disclosed is a thermoplastic polyolefin composition useful in automotive components comprising at least a polypropylene having a melting point temperature (T) of greater than 130&#xb0; C. and a melt flow rate (230&#xb0; C./2.16 kg) within the range from 10 g/10 min to 80 g/10 min; an amorphous ethylene-propylene copolymer comprising within the range from 40 wt % to 80 wt % ethylene derived units and having a melt flow rate (230&#xb0; C./2.16 kg) within the range from 0.1 g/10 min to 20 g/10 min; and a propylene-based elastomer having within the range from 5 to 25 wt % ethylene derived units and having a Tof less than 110&#xb0; C. The composition only partially breaks or there is no break at &#x2212;29&#xb0; C. (ASTM D256) with Notched Izod Force of between 10 to 40 ft-lb/inat 22&#xb0; C. (533 to 2,132 J/m), and between 1.0 to 12 ft-lb/inat &#x2212;29&#xb0; C. (53 to 636 J/m).

Thermoplastic polyolefin containing amorphous ethylene elastomer

Polyethylene compositions including at least 65 wt % ethylene derived units and from 0 to 35 wt % of C-Colefin comonomer derived units, based upon the total weight of the polyethylene composition are provided. The polyethylene compositions have a) an RCI,m of 100 kg/mol or greater and one or both of: b) a Tw-Twvalue of from &#x2212;16 to &#x2212;38&#xb0; C.; and c) an Mw/Mwvalue of at least 0.9. The polyethylene compositions may be used to manufacture articles such as films.

Polyethylene compositions and articles made therefrom

Bimodal polypropylene compositions and a process to form melt blended bimodal polypropylene compositions comprising combining at least two polypropylenes in at least a two-pass process, and forming a bimodal polypropylene composition having a Flexural Modulus (190&#xb0; C., 1% secant) of at least 1700 MPa, as well as one or more other selected properties. These compositions are suitable for thermoformed articles and injection molded articles, any of which may be foamed.

Bimodal polypropylenes and method of making same

This invention relates to ethylene polymers obtained using a catalyst system comprising fluorided silica, alkylalumoxane activator and at least two metallocene catalyst compounds (a bridged monocyclopentadienyl group 4 transition metal compound and a biscyclopentadientyl group 4 transition metal compound), where the fluorided support has not been calcined at a temperature of 400&#xb0; C. or more, and is preferably produced using a wet mixing method, such as an aqueous method. The ethylene polymers have: 1) at least 50 mol % ethylene; 2) a reversed comonomer index, mol %, (RCI,m) of 85 or more; 3) a Comonomer Distribution Ratio-2 (CDR-2,m) of the percent comonomer at the z average molecular weight divided by the percent comonomer at the weight average molecular weight plus the number average molecular weight divided by 2 ([% comonomer at Mz]/[% comonomer at ((Mw+Mn)/2)] as determined by GPC of 2.3 or more; and 4) a density of 0.91 g/cc or more.

Polyethylene composition

This invention relates to new multimodal and/or broad molecular weight high density polyethylene polymers. The polymers may be made in a single reactor, preferably a gas phase reactor using a dual catalyst system comprising a pyridyldiamido transition metal compound, a metallocene compound, a support, and optionally an activator.

This invention relates to a polyolefin composition with (a) 80 to 90 wt % of an amorphous ethylene-propylene copolymer having either no crystallinity or crystallinity derived from ethylene, having about 30 wt % or more units derived from ethylene; (b) 5 to 15 wt % of a semi-crystalline ethylene-propylene copolymer having substantial crystallinity derived from ethylene and having 70 wt % or more units derived from ethylene; and (c) 1 to 5 wt % of a propylene-based elastomer having within the range from 5 to 25 wt % ethylene derived units and having a melting point temperature of less than 110&#xb0; C. and a Mw/Mn within the range from 2.0 to 4.0.

Ethylene-propylene copolymers with amorphous and semi-crystalline components

The present invention relates to a bimodal polypropylene composition comprising a blend of a HMW polypropylene component and a LMW polypropylene component, where the high molecular weight (HMW) component of the bimodal composition has a z-average molecular weight Mz of more than 400,000 g/mole, and a process to make such composition. The composition is suitable for thermoformed articles and injection molded articles.

This invention relates to a process to polymerize olefins comprising: i) contacting one or more olefins with a catalyst system comprising: 1) a support comprising an organoaluminum treated layered silicate and an inorganic oxide; and 2) a bisphenolate compound; and ii) obtaining olefin polymer having high molecular weight and layered silicate dispersed therein.
