A scraper system for an agricultural machine includes a frame, an opener disc coupled to the frame, a gauge wheel positioned adjacent the opener disc and configured to rotate relative to the frame, and a scraper configured to rotate with the gauge wheel to remove soil or debris from the opener disc. The scraper is ring-shaped, directly coupled to the gauge wheel, and spaced apart from the frame.

A single disk fertilizer opener assembly for opening a trench in soil includes a frame support and a cutting disk for forming the trench. The cutting disk is coupled to an axle and rotates about the axle as the assembly moves in a working direction. The assembly also includes a first arm pivotally coupled to the frame support and the axle, and a second arm pivotally coupled to the frame support at a location spaced from the first arm. A bracket is coupled to the axle and the second arm, and a scraper is coupled to the bracket and disposed substantially perpendicularly to the working direction.

An implement drive arrangement for a wheel axle assembly pivotally connected to a housing. A drive element is supported on the axle for rotation with the wheel generally about the wheel axis. The housing rotatably supports a driven element for rotation about an axis generally fixed in relation to the housing. A free-floating connecting element is rotatably supported between the drive element and the driven element to facilitate relatively unimpeded pivoting of the axle and wheel relative to the housing. The connecting element has two degrees of freedom offset at 90&#xb0; to one another and aligned radially relative to the axis of rotation to accommodate axle pivoting while assuring smooth transfer of power from the wheel to the driven element as the angular relationship changes between the axle and housing with movement of the wheel over irregular ground surfaces.

Ground wheel drive system for an agricultural implement

An axle suspension for first and second implement ground support wheels, the axle suspension comprising a housing connected to the implement frame and having an interior portion supporting first and second axle carriers for pivoting about first and second pivotal axes. The axle carriers each include outwardly extending members projecting from opposite sides of the housing and upright members fixed to the outwardly extending members for pivoting therewith about the first and second pivotal axes. A connector extending between the upper ends of the upright members constrains the axle carriers for rotation in the same direction about their respective pivotal axes.
