Methods and systems are provided for displaying transcriptions of radio communication transcription for an aircraft. The method comprises capturing audio signals of radio communication traffic to and from the aircraft. The captured audio signals are preprocessed to divide the signals into independent spoken utterances. Each spoken utterance is transcribed using a speech recognition decoder that utilizes an air traffic control (ATC) speech recognition model and classification data is extracted from the transcription of each spoken utterance. The transcription of each spoken utterance is logged with reference to the classification data and a textual display of the transcription is provided to a crew member of the aircraft.

A vehicle system includes a control unit with a weather module configured to receive weather data and to identify a wind shear zone at a location based on the weather data, the weather module further configured to generate wind shear coordinate data and wind shear characteristic data based on the weather data. The control unit further includes a display module configured to generate display commands based on the wind shear coordinate data and wind shear characteristic data from the weather module. The vehicle system further includes a display device coupled to receive the display commands from the control unit and configured to display a three-dimensional forward perspective view corresponding to a vehicle environment. The display device is further configured to display first wind shear symbology within the view at a position that indicates the location of the wind shear zone.

A method for displaying received radio voice messages onboard an aircraft is provided. The method post-processes, by at least one processor onboard the aircraft, a set of speech recognition (SR) hypothetical data to increase accuracy of an associated SR system, by: obtaining, by the at least one processor, secondary source data from a plurality of secondary sources; comparing, by the at least one processor, the set of SR hypothetical data to the secondary source data; and identifying, by the at least one processor, an aircraft tail number using the set of SR hypothetical data and the secondary source data; identifies, by the at least one processor, a subset of the received radio voice messages including the tail number; and presents, via a display device onboard the aircraft, the subset using distinguishing visual characteristics.

A method for presenting weather information onboard an aircraft is provided. The method obtains a first set of weather data from aircraft onboard radar system; obtains a second set of weather data from external sources including one or more external aircraft, a satellite, a remote server, and a ground-based weather station, wherein the communication device is compatible a communication protocol for the external sources, and wherein the communication protocol comprises at least one of a datalink communication protocol, a satellite communication protocol, a very high frequency (VHF) radio communication protocol, and a transponder communication protocol; and presents graphical elements comprising a first set of graphical elements associated with the first set of weather data and a second set of graphical elements associated with the second set of weather data, wherein the second set of graphical elements include visual characteristics distinguishable from the first set of graphical elements.

A method comprises displaying a first segment of the plurality of segments comprising a vertical profile with a first vertical scale and a first horizontal scale, wherein the first horizontal scale is based on a first distance associated with the first segment. The method further comprises displaying a second segment of the plurality of segments with the first vertical scale and a second horizontal scale, wherein the second horizontal scale is based on a second distance associated with the second segment. The first horizontal scale and the second horizontal scale are not equal. In this manner, the vertical profile has a nonuniform horizontal scale and a uniform vertical scale across segments.

A method comprises displaying a navigational map on a display device and displaying a graphical adjustment element on the display device. A system and method are provided for highlighting and selecting one of a plurality of graphical IFR procedure depiction on an aircraft display. A displayed legend includes a plurality of textual procedure identifications, one each for each of the graphical IFR procedure depictions. Movement of a cursor over either a graphical IFR procedure depiction or a textual procedure identification highlights both, and selection thereof removes all other graphical IFR procedure depictions and textual procedure identifications from being displayed.

An exemplary method involves obtaining a briefing sequence for the aircraft procedure and providing the procedure information via the output device, wherein the procedure information is provided in accordance with the briefing sequence. When the output device is realized as an audio output device, the procedure information is sequentially provided auditorily via the audio output device.
