This disclosure generally relates to an energy generation system. In one embodiment, the energy generation system comprises a plurality of solar panels that are connected in a series electrical connection. The energy generation system further includes a short-string optimizer which outputs direct current electricity to a direct current bus.

In one embodiment, a direct current bus is disclosed. The direct current bus is a four conductor bus and comprises a positive voltage conductor, a neutral conductor, a negative voltage conductor, and a safety ground. The direct current bus may be implemented in a photovoltaic system to interconnect various components of the photovoltaic system.

Multi-section portable electronic torch

An electronic torch is disclosed which includes at least one light emitting diode disposed in each one of a plurality of sections of the electronic torch. In one embodiment, each one of the plurality of sections of the electronic torch is independently selectable to activate the at least one light emitting diode disposed in each one of the plurality of sections of the electronic torch. In another embodiment, a mobile device may be connected to the electronic torch and provide instructions to the torch via a wired or wireless connection.

A surface-mount touch panel cradle is disclosed for use in electrically controlling remote components. The surface-mount touch panel cradle comprises a surface mounted receptacle. A cradle frame can be coupled to the receptacle. A frame biasing mechanism can be configured to move the cradle frame away from the information mount to enable the touch panel to be inserted and removed from the receptacle. An electrical connection can be located within the receptacle. The electrical connection can be configured to be electrically coupled to the touch panel.

A switching device is provided having an air-gap switch for an electrical load. The switching device can include a switch keycap configured for controlling the switching of the electrical load. A faceplate can be configured to surround the switch keycap. In addition, an air-gap actuator can be contained substantially within the switch keycap. The air-gap actuator can be pulled from the switch keycap to short out an electrical connection to the electrical load.
