A device for the separation of a carbon dioxide of a gas stream by using a bed of particulate adsorber particles contained in a sorbent particle volume, comprising at least two inlet channels and at least two outlet channels in said sorbent particle volume, the inlet channels and outlet channels mutually intertwining at least partly to form a nested structure and being arranged parallel to each other. The inlet channels and outlet channels are alternatingly arranged in both lateral dimensions so that the sorbent particle volume is confined by the interspace defined by adjacent side walls of inlet and outlet channels. Further, the sorbent particle volume surrounds the channels circumferentially.

A combustion chamber in a gas-turbine, wherein the combustion chamber has an annular-toroidal-shaped interior space. A plurality of burners are arranged on the periphery of the combustion chamber, wherein the burners are operatively connected to the annular-toroidal-shaped interior space so as to initiate a swirl flow. The swirl flow forms a vortex core and the vortex core ensures the stability of the flame front.

In a gas turbine combustion chamber (1) cooled by means of impingement cooling, the height of the cooling duct (5) formed by the perforated plate (3) and the impingement surface (4) increases continuously in the transverse flow direction to correspond with the supply of cooling air. Tubes (7) are arranged in the cooling duct (5) on the holes (6) of the perforated plate (3) in such a way that the impingement air meets the impingement surface (4) at right angles, the height of the tubes (7) increasing in the transverse flow direction in such a way that the distance between the tubes (7) and the impingement surface (4) is constant over the complete length of the cooling duct (5). By this means, the heat transfer coefficient remains constant along the impingement cooling section and uniform removal of heat is made possible.
