The present invention relates to a semiconductor structure and a method for its production, the semiconductor structure comprising at least one conductor region and at least two semiconductor regions, which semiconductor regions are partly separated by the at least one conductor region. The at least one conductor region comprises openings extending between the semiconductor regions which are partly separated by the respective conductor region. The semiconductor regions comprise at least one organic semiconductor material having a specific HOMO energy level, in particular a DPP polymer. The conductor region comprises a conductive material having a specific work function, said combination of specific energy level and work function allowing for a simple preparation of the conductive region. The invention further relates to a method for providing such a semiconductor structure.

Disclosed is a salt of an organometallic complex cation and an organometallic complex anion, wherein the cation as well as the anion consists of a central metal atom M of atomic weight greater than 40 associated to 2 or more ligands, at least one ligand comprising a cyclic organic moiety with a carbon atom bonding to M, and at least one ligand comprising a cyclic organic moiety with a nitrogen atom bonding to M. The novel salts may be used as conductive and/or light emitting components in electronic devices. Color emission may be chosen by selecting anion(s) and cation(s) of suitable emission characteristics.

The invention relates to a process in which a compound RCOOR(I) is made by a transesterification reaction of an ester compound RCOOR(II) with an alcohol ROH (III) in the presence of a transesterification catalyst, wherein Ris H or Calkyl or CH&#x2550;CR&#x2014;; Ris Calkyl; Ris selected from the group consisting of alkyl having at least 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl having at least 5 carbon atoms, aryl, aralkyl, alkaryl and amino alkyl; and Ris &#x2014;H or &#x2014;Calkyl, wherein alcohol ROH (IV) is formed as a byproduct and in which said byproduct (IV) is removed by distillation in the presence of an entrainer, in which the entrainer is a compound that suppresses the formation of an azeotrope between compound (II) and byproduct (IV). The process can be useful in the preparation of esters such as dimethyl amino ethyl (meth)acrylate. The invention also provides a method of separating alcohols and esters. In a further form of the invention a process of preparing esters by a transesterification process is provided in which the transesterification catalyst is homogenous.

Manufacture of esters

The present invention relates to novel polymers comprising a repeating unit of the formula (I) and their use in electronic devices. The polymers according to the invention have excellent solubility in organic solvents and excellent film-forming properties. In addition, high charge carrier mobilities and high stability of the emission color can be observed, if the polymers according to the invention are used in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs).
