A device for injecting fuel into the combustion chambers of an internal combustion engine, with an injector enclosed by an injector housing, whose control chamber is acted on by a control volume, and with control valves for increasing/relieving the pressure in the nozzle chamber of the injector and in the control chamber of the injector. The control valves are disposed in parallel to one another. They are hydraulically coupled to one another without side effects by means of a coupling chamber, and are actuated by means of an actuator that can be switched into different stroke levels.

A fuel injection valve having a valve member that is controlled by the pressure in a control pressure chamber and whose opening motion is influenced by way of a compensation pressure face of the valve member. This compensation pressure face adjoins a hydraulic chamber whose pressure is controlled with the aid of a piston which reduces the hydraulic initial stress of the hydraulic chamber, and keeps the fuel at an essentially constant value, and can compensate for volume changes of the hydraulic chamber by moving in opposition to a reference pressure.

Fuel injection valve

A fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines, having a valve member which is axially displaceable in a bore of a valve body and which on an end toward the combustion chamber has a valve member head. The head forms a valve closing member, which on one side toward the valve body has a sealing face, with which the sealing face cooperates with a valve seat face provided on the face end of the valve body toward the combustion chamber. An injection opening in the valve member head, which emerges from a pressure chamber, formed between the valve member and the wall of the bore, and leads away along the circumferential wall of the valve member head. The injection opening is closed by the wall of the bore when the valve member is resting on the valve seat and is opened by an outward-oriented opening stroke motion of the valve member. The valve member is actuatable by an externally controllable actuator independently of the high fuel pressure in the pressure chamber, and two pressure shoulders, facing one another and axially defining the pressure chamber, are provided on the needle-like valve member and each have substantially equal pressure engagement surface area. The pressure chamber is characterized in that one of the pressure shoulders is disposed on an end remote from the combustion chamber of the valve body, in a compensation chamber which communicates fluidically with the pressure chamber and is closed off on a face end by an axially displaceably guided pressure sleeve.

Fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines

A valve for controlling fluids, which in order to be actuated, cooperates with a fluid-filled membrane actuator. A coupling chamber provided in the membrane actuator is sealed by two membranes as dividing walls. In order to compensate for fluid losses produced by pressure acting on the membrane actuator, a filling valve is provided, which is disposed in the region of one of the two membranes. A refilling of the membrane actuator during the closed phase of the control valve is assured by way of the filling valve. A filling of this kind can also compensate for length changes of the piezoelectric actuator, the valve, or the valve housing. The valve is designated for use in fuel injection devices for internal combustion engines of motor vehicles.

A fuel device including a high-pressure fuel source from which fuel is supplied to fuel injection valves. The fuel injection valves are controlled with the aid of a valve that is driven by a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive drive mechanism. With the aid of this drive mechanism, a 3-way valve having a closing body can be adjusted in an intermediary position in which a control chamber, by way of which a hydraulic force can be exerted in the closing direction on a valve closing member of the injection valve, can simultaneously be connected to a high-pressure fuel source and a relief chamber in order to adjust a control pressure that lies between the high pressure of the high-pressure source and a relief pressure. In this manner, a partial opening of the injection valve member of the injection valve can be adjusted in order to introduce a reduced injection quantity into the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine.

Fuel injection device

A valve control unit for a fuel injection valve, has a housing body, in which two valve control chambers that communicate continuously with one another are provided. The first valve control chamber communicates fuel with an inflow conduit for fuel pressure on a terminal member of a valve control piston which is displaceable in the housing body and the second valve control chamber communicates with a closable outlet conduit. A mechanical stop for limiting the mobility of the valve control piston in the direction of the second valve control chamber is embodied on the housing body. The quantity of preinjected fuel can be minimized by the volume of fuel in the first valve control chamber.
