A combustor panel is disclosed herein. The combustor panel includes a top side, a bottom side opposite the top side, a feature coupled to the top side and extending orthogonally away from the top side, the feature defining a first space on the bottom side beneath the feature, a first plurality of cooling holes extending in a first direction from the top side to the bottom side, a second plurality of cooling holes extending in a second direction from the top side to the bottom side, the second direction being rotated about 1° to about 60° counter-clockwise from the first direction, and a third plurality of cooling holes extending in a third direction from the top side to the bottom side, the third direction being about rotated 1° to about 60° clockwise from the first direction.

Stud film cooling for double wall combustors

A combustor panel arrangement for a gas turbine engine. The combustor panel arrangement includes a first combustor panel that has a first edge. A second combustor panel has a second edge facing the first edge. A first plurality of effusion holes extend through the first edge towards the second edge along a corresponding one of a first plurality of flow paths. A second plurality of effusion holes extend through the second edge along a corresponding one of a second plurality flow paths towards the first edge. The first plurality of flow paths and the second plurality of flow paths are non-intersecting.

A method is provided involving an additive manufacturing system. This method includes a step of forming a first fluid conduit using the additive manufacturing system. The method also includes a step of providing a fluid coupling. The fluid coupling includes the first fluid conduit and a second fluid conduit. The first fluid conduit is connected to and fluidly coupled with the second fluid conduit. The first fluid conduit has a first configuration. The second fluid conduit has a second configuration that is different than the first configuration.

Fluid couplings and methods for additive manufacturing thereof

A flowpath assembly has a first conduit defining a flowpath radially inward, and a second conduit spaced radially outward from the first conduit. A void defined between the first and second conduits contains an insulating material that may have a greater porosity than the first and second conduits. The assembly may be additive manufactured generally as one unitary piece with the raw material of the conduits being melted and solidified on a slice-by-slice basis and the insulating material being selectively bypassed by an energy gun of an additive manufacturing system.

Method of manufacturing an insulated flowpath assembly

One embodiment includes a fuel injector. The fuel injector assembly comprises a conduit for conveying fuel from a fuel inlet to a nozzle. The conduit is located in a support, with the conduit, the nozzle, and the support being a single unitary piece. A thermally compliant feature is located at the nozzle which allows the fuel injector to adjust for differential thermal expansion.

A tube assembly that may be for a fuel nozzle of a fuel system of a gas turbine engine may have a first tube defining a first flowpath along a centerline, a second tube generally spaced radially outward from the first tube with a first void located between and defined by the first and second tubes, and a support structure located in the first void and extending between the first and second tubes. The support structure is constructed and arranged to minimize or eliminate thermal conduction between the tubes. The entire assembly may be additive manufactured as one unitary piece. One example of a method of operation may include designed-for breakage of the structural support due to thermal stresses thereby further minimizing thermal conduction between tubes.

Tube assembly

A fluid dispensing apparatus that may be additive manufactured as one unitary piece and may be a fuel injector for a gas turbine engine includes a radial displacement bellows having an outer surface that faces and may be exposed to a surrounding environment and an interior surface that faces and may define at least in-part a flowpath extending along a centerline. The radial displacement bellows is constructed and arranged to move between an expanded state when a pressure differential between the environment and the flowpath is low to a restricted state when the pressure differential is high.

A self-purge system includes an additively manufactured purge valve assembly in communication with a fuel passage to selectively purge the fuel passage.

Insulated flowpath assembly

A balance pressure control is provided for flaps which pivot in a rear of a gas turbine engine nozzle to change the cross-sectional area of the nozzle. An actuator drives a sync ring to move the flaps through a linkage. A supply of pressurized air is also provided to the sync ring to assist the actuator in resisting forces from high pressure gases within the nozzle. When those forces are lower than normal the flow of air to the rear of the sync ring is reduced or blocked. A ring rotates with another ring to control both this air flow, and a supply of cooling air to an interior of the nozzle.
